Story
Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

Story
Jazz Bashara is a criminal. Well, sort of. Life on Artemis, the first and only city on the moon, is tough if you're not a rich tourist or an eccentric billionaire. So smuggling in the occasional harmless bit of contraband barely counts, right? Not when you've got debts to pay and your job as a porter barely covers the rent. Everything changes when Jazz sees the chance to commit the perfect crime, with a reward too lucrative to turn down.

interesting listen, good narration
I enjoyed this audio.
The characters are well developed and the plot has twists and turns that grabs the listener’s attention.
Every detail is carefully constructed which brings the book alive.
The narrator did a great job narrating. She nailed each character's voice and their personalities.
I cannot wait for the second book in this series.
I recommend this book.

Intriguing Intro into a Complex World!!
An interesting read that in many ways reminded me of Murakami - a disconnected aimless young man confronted with two realities. Which one is true?? Which one is real?? All of the former girlfriends and mates he encounters seem helpful enough, but as Matt learns more and more of the threat he faces, he is forced to make the decision to act on his own. A compelling invite to follow Matt on his journey!! The narrator Tiana Milne-Wilson was quite exceptional!! She really brought all the characters to life!!

Can dreams show us the truth?
I received an audio copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
For me, it was a little hard to get into at first as I was trying to understand what was going on. Once I realized what was going on - the slipping into a dream like state and him learning about an alternate reality that he was a part of - I really enjoyed the book.
Matt was just an ordinary person, living an ordinary life when these "dreams" started and altered what he thought he knew about life and himself. He had a lot of friends that began to help him along the way.
I can't wait to check out book 2 to find out what happens next!
The narrator did a great job. I loved the accents that she gave different characters. It took me a little bit to realize what was happening, but there is a little sound that happens each time Matt slips between his reality and the dream like reality. Once I caught on to this sound, it helped me follow along with the book more.

Mystery from the start
This book is a mystery surrounding a paranormal experience.
Matt starts off his day like normal only for weird things to start happening to him. Having weird dreams (he thinks are episodes) his life starts to unravel.
This book was a great escape from reality. I can't wait to see what happens next!

Exciting new series
This is my first book by KJ Reichert. I really enjoyed it! He is now one of my favorite authors. The characters are well developed and the plot has twists and turns that grabs the listener’s attention. Every detail is carefully constructed which brings the book alive. Reichert took me on an emotional journey I will never forget and truly, an amazing introduction to his writing. Tiana Milne-Wilson did a great job narrating. She nailed each character's voice and their personalities. I cannot wait for the second book in this series. I highly recommend this book.

Amazing start to a series
KJ Reichert is a master craftsman. His writing is really polished. I’ll often give a good rating despite there being some bumbling points in an otherwise good story, but, in Dreams of Consciousness I got the feeling Reichert sat with every sentence teasing it to perfection.
This is written more as an installment or episode than a complete short story. I received a free code to provide an honest review and I will be seeking out more of this series for sure.
Tiana Milne-Wilson does a great job enhancing the written text and creating dramatic tension and emphasis. I’ll look for more of her work too.

This had Potential but...
I obtained this book through audible as a promo in exchange for an honest review, once again; thank you so much!
Now, the sound prompts for when Matt goes into his dream states are appreciated, and after a while I realised that his visions come when he sleeps. Matt seems to transcend time through his dreams, I think they are the portal to the world where he is being hunted by beings and beasts not of this world. It seems that Matt is a target of the supernatural enemy that chases him in his dreams but, are able somehow to manifest into his life, in 21st century real time.
It seems that Matt is not fully aware of who he is in his dream state; he panics and is frightened and, even thinks he is schizophrenic.
it became clear after a time that he is a supernatural being from another time/world that lives in two worlds.
I would like to leave the story line for now and comment on the location of the story, the narrator and her narration.
it seems that Matt is in Christchurch, New Zealand; so awesome as I am a Kiwi! The problem for me is that the narrator seems to be Scottish and portrays the "Polynesian brothers" with cockney English accents that were wrong..so so wrong! If they were actually NZ Maori men, they would have have been an hilarious riot in all the right places, but the narrator brought them absolutely no justice as the staunch friends they seem to be to Matt. Tiana Milne Wilson please watch some youtube videos to attain a more accurate NZ Maori accent, I noticed you gave the bar woman a short clipped NZ caucasian accent, it was good...but the NZ Maori accent is a very relaxed mix of bad grammar and native lingo. please research these, otherwise I think you are a fine voice actress for accents you're used to.
overall K.J. Reichert has a good genre going here for those of us who love fantasy/ fiction and the hero is just an average guy like us. I look forward to the next book!
