About this listen

In the shadow of a Revolutionary War battlefield site is the historic town of Kings Mountian, North Carolina. Near that city is located in a smaller urban town, Blackberry Ridge, which is steeped in history. Grace Bridges owns and operates a bookshop in the center of town located in Cleveland County, North Carolina. The actual Battle of Kings Mountain took place just across the border in South Carolina, almost on the state line. With the help of her assistant, Hank Warren, the bookshop has become a huge success. Because much of The Overmountain Bookshop focuses on the history of the area surrounding the battlefield site of Kings Mountain, it is of significant importance to all residents of Cleveland County, North Carolina. At thirty-five years of age, Grace discovers a secret that has been hidden from her all her life. When the validity of the mystery is unveiled, it changes everything she has believed about herself. The source of this information comes to her by way of a relative she didn’t even know existed. The report he reveals to her involves her parents, her brother, a new person in her life, and another set of parents. Learning that she was adopted as a baby changes her entire world. As this story unfolds, World War II, Adolph Hitler, and the Nazi regime take center stage. Through every situation she faces, her faith in Christ becomes her mainstay and source of strength. God proves to be faithful to Grace as he demonstrates his ‘unmerited favor’ toward her. Through her experiences, she learns to trust God in every circumstance.
