Publisher's summary

Be a Magical Engineer, they say
It’ll be fun, they say.

Yeah…not so much.

From the minute I graduated, my life was turned upside down.
And things only got worse when I helped AMIA in their efforts to take down the resistance.

Now Logan, Theo, and I are at the rebel's mercy.
They want us dead, but we’re determined to see another day.

All we have to do is find a way out of this hole, fight a bazillion rebels,
And save the day, so I can go back to my men.
No big deal, right?

If we live through this, and I get to see my men again, I'll be Ecstatic.
And if I take down my psycho cousin while we’re at it, that’s even better.

Note: Ecstatic is book five of the Arcane Mage series. This book is a slow-build reverse-harem romance intended for adult audiences. No opossums were taken out of their mailbox in the makings of this book.

So many Feels

FINALLY!! RH action!
This book begins immediately after the last with Char, Logan and Theo captured by the resistance and everyone else freaking out. We see so much more to Logan and Theo. The little bit of back story we get from Logan makes me want to cry. And Theo? I cant tell is he’s being deliberately obtuse. I have a theory on why he’s acting the way he is but ill add that below with more Theo talk.
I love how Char, Logan and Theo had to work together to get out. Even though they might not have needed to escape. Their rescue was already in progress. I see a budding relationship forming between logan and Theo and I cant wait to see it progress. Also Logans inner monologue to seeing Char reunite with Bast and Andres (hot damn that was hot).
Lets talk Harem (My favorite topic)
Bast: I will forever love bast. He is everything anyone could ask for in a guy. Sweet compassionate, sexy as hell, and encouraging in anything Char wants to do as long as she’s not at risk. I’m convinced he will forever be my favorite.
Andres: Sweet, sweet Andres. I love that he seems to be taking on the role as peace maker in the group. He’s honestly hilarious and when he and Char team up to mess with Bast its just gold. Now I don’t know why possessive Andres is the most adorable thing ever when Blaze acted like that I wanted to punch him. Maybe because it wasn’t targeted toward one of the Harem. I may never know but I was grinning the entire time reading it.
Logan: I love that he seems to be all for the RH and actually thinks its hot. I can’t wait to see logans and Chars relationship blossom.
Blaze: I’m so glad he finally got his head out his a$$. If you’ve read my other reviews I’m not a fan of Blaze but I am glad he finally took that nasty possessiveness and threw it away, and in the end finally realizes that having more boy friends means having more protection. He cant always be there to protect Char but that doesn’t mean someone else wont step up and fill the gap.
Theo: I’m so conflicted with Theo. I was thinking the whole time that there was something fishy going on with Theo. I’m glad we finally know the answer and I can not wait to see him grovel. Even though in the end it really wasn’t his fault but he could have explained things to Char while they were imprisoned. In stead he basically burned the bridge. Man I love a good grovel and cant wait to see it.

There are aspects to each review of this story that remains true throughout. Such as Bast’s Grandma being completely Nuts and I love that woman, to being completely obsessed with Blair. I see that she does actually have her own story even is I am confused to if its complete or not. I’m curious to see is the mechanical engineer that is new to Andre’s family might be someone in Blairs Harem? We just seemed to get a bit of information about him that just doesn’t fit with the story.
The narration was phenomenal as always. I could almost feel the emotion through the audio. Highly recommended I love the dual narration that we see. it really helps us understand more of the characters since there are 6 main characters and the books are relatively short. We needed their POVs to learn more about them.

Easter Eggs

I am loving this series and I am holding back a chuckle at all the references in the book. Char’s (FMC) references make me want to ask to hang out to catch up on the latest in a series we like. She feels like a real person and as disorganized and confused as anyone feels when it comes to adulting. TS Snow pulls you into Char’s book like your bff is trying to tell you about all the tea but still forgets what they had for lunch.

Good progression with the story in this one!

Book 5 picks up right where we left off with Char and 2 of her guys captured and the others trying to figure out what happened to her. I am gonna try and keep spoilers to a minimum here but I thought the author did a good job with the build up with them being rescued and how the group came together to come at the baddies from 2 directions pretty much. I liked seeing the battles and powers being used, and enjoyed seeing Char get closer with some of her guys. I do feel like because of how the story lends itself, some of the guys are getting the shaft with airtime but oh well.

This definitely was not the smutty book of the series haha but it worked well because the author needed to drive the plot and create the tension and conflict for the finale in book 6. I gobbled it up but I know some people wanted more heat. I liked getting to know the guys more, seeing their powers work the way they did and getting their POVs was great. It helped keep me the reader engaged and falling for this world even more ❤️. I felt bad for Theo in this one, things finally are revealed so we understand what’s going on now. I was happy to finally see Blaze and Char reconcile, I was getting super frustrated with Char in the previous books, not gonna lie haha. Logan’s coldness and separation makes sense now that we got to learn more about him. And loved the steam we did get, and cannot wait for Logan to let go hehe.

Narration was good, they brought the emotions to the forefront in this one and helped drive the desperation while being captured and the joy and lust with the reconciliation. My heart ached with the reveal towards the end, how he and his family was manipulated. I was happy to see the humor keep coming despite the circumstances. Char is a character, that is for sure, and the side characters really elevate this world and the narrators did a good job with all their accents and personalities. 4/5 of the narration for me!

I hope Blair gets her own story and we get them on audiobook so I can get the snark and humor some more haha
