Weil am Sonntag die Sonne scheint, am Montag Herr Mon zu Besuch kommt, am Dienstag Dienst ist und am Mittwoch Wochenmitte, weil es am Donnerstag donnert und am Freitag frei gibt - deswegen, aber auch nur deswegen, kommt am Samstag das Sams zurück, jenes kleine rüsselnasige Wesen mit den roten Stachelhaaren, das der brave Herr Taschenbier gleich beim ersten Besuch so lieb gewonnen hat.

Herr Taschenbier ist ein ängstlicher Mensch. Er fürchtet sich vor seiner Zimmerwirtin, vor seinem Chef und überhaupt vor allen Leuten, die schimpfen und befehlen - bis ihm eines Samstags ein Sams über den Weg läuft und kurzerhand beschließt, bei ihm zu bleiben. Das Sams ist ein furchtloses, ja beinahe respektloses Wesen, das sich von nichts und niemandem einschüchtern lässt, das überall freche Bemerkungen macht und zurückschimpft, wenn andere schimpfen. Herrn Taschenbier ist das anfangs furchtbar peinlich und er versucht auf alle möglichen Arten, das Sams wieder loszuwerden.

Immer wieder samstags! Natürlich hatte Herr Taschenbier nicht die leiseste Ahnung, dass am Samstag das Sams zu ihm kommen würde. Wie sollte er auch? Aber plötzlich war es da, nannte ihn Papa, war laut und frech und sang, alles Dinge, die Herr Taschenbier so gar nicht mag. Trotzdem finden beide Gefallen aneinander und Herr Taschenbier wird sogar selber einmal ein bisschen frech zu seiner strengen Vermieterin, der Frau Rotkohl. Er mag sich gar nicht mehr vom Sams trennen, als die Woche rum ist.

Wunschpunktalarm! Herr Taschenbier hat Geburtstag und das Sams hält ein besonderes Geburtstagsgeschenk für seinen Papa bereit: seinen kostbaren, allerletzten, hinter dem Ohr versteckten Wunschpunkt! Statt sich jedoch genau zu überlegen, welchen Wunsch er sich damit erfüllen möchten, wünscht Herr Taschenbier der schimpfenden Frau Rotkohl unbedacht ein eigenes Sams herbei. Doch dieses Sams ist ganz anders - es ist brav und isst statt der Würstchen am liebsten Körner und Salat. Schnell wird klar - zwei Samse sind eines zu viel!

So ganz versteht das Sams dieses Weihnachten noch nicht. Was genau sind das für Flügelwesen, die angeblich im Himmel wohnen? Und warum stellt man sich einen Baum mitten ins Wohnzimmer? Herr Taschenbier muss eine ganze Menge erklären. Vor allem die Sache mit den Geschenken findet das Sams sehr interessant. Es hat auch gleich eine Idee, was es seinem Papa zum Fest schenken könnte. Doch dazu muss es erst einmal in die Sams-Welt reisen.
