About this listen
Working in one of Odessa's busiest emergency departments, Eliza Moore never expected to find her true purpose through the suffering of her patients. As a trained nurse, she knew her duty required care and compassion, to help those in need heal from their injuries and illnesses. What she didn't see coming was bureaucratic red tape forcing her to ignore the mistreatment and suffering, to turn a blind eye when the victims needed her most.
After witnessing yet another abused woman walk through her unit and return right back to the evil tormenting her, Eliza forces herself to take action to save a young mom from the horrors of domestic violence. But once unleashed, this executioner soon discovers there's more power in breaking the rules than following them, and she's not about to give up her newfound calling.
With a taste for vengeance, will this angel of death finally help those trapped in the violence or does ending perpetrators with lethal efficiency send Eliza spiraling down toward her own doom? To the brave souls who navigate the darkness of suffering and violence, seeking hope among despair.
Your strength inspires the fight for justice and compassion in a world often shrouded in silence. For the healers who stand at the crossroads of compassion and fury. To every person who has ever felt trapped between the desire for justice and the weight of the world. And to the listeners, thank you for joining Eliza on this journey of healing, vengeance, and self-discovery. Your willingness to explore the shadows alongside her is a testament to the power of storytelling in illuminating the human experience.

New Found Suspense
I do not read fiction much but this book was very entertaining. The detailed descriptive language bings you into the story making you feel as it the main characters is speaking to you and as if you are with her, at a bar, her apartment or streets. As I was listening to it, I kept wondering if it was in fact a fictional story or a confession of a serial killer that I was listening to. The story has a nice progression and you can see the character growing in her role. The narrator does an excellent job in narrating it. The end was completely unexpected . This books has picked my interest into reading more of this genre.

Chilling, Suspenseful, and Addictive
This was such a thrilling ride! I love a strong, complex main character, and this one delivered. The story had just the right amount of tension and psychological depth, making me question what I would do in the same situation. The twists were clever, and the medical setting added an extra layer of realism.

A brilliantly odd mix of good and evil!
This book made me question my moral compass at all times. As a nurse, I totally empathise with the need to care and save our patients but as a Christian and a citizen, I had to question if judgement should come from us or vigilante's? Hmm, this was a really intriguing read and It was a gripping, darkly clever thriller. It follows Eliza; a nurse with a chilling secret. The story balances suspense and moral complexity, making you question right and wrong at every turn. The pacing is tight, with sharp dialogue and moments of unexpected dark humour. The narration adds to the tension, with a calm, almost clinical delivery that contrasts brilliantly with the story’s twists. What stood out are Eliza’s internal conflicts and justifications, making her both unsettling and strangely sympathetic. If you enjoy morally gray characters, psychological suspense, and stories that keep you guessing until the last chapter, this audiobook is worth adding to your list.
