About this listen

Rocco Caldo is tall, dark, and handsome, but not interested in love. Loyal to a fault, he can’t turn away an old friend in need or a beautiful woman on the run...especially when they have unfinished business.

Rebel Bishop is a single mom looking for shelter, not a handout. But when her path crosses with an old flame, they uncover an ember of passion that’s been smoldering inside them both for over a decade.

Can they move beyond their tragic past, allowing the flame to burn bright into their future?

Ember is the seventh full-length stand-alone novel in the Men of Inked Heatwave series by USA Today best-selling author Chelle Bliss.

Rocco and Rebel are perfect family

Rocco gets his story and it is hot and complicated as any in the Men of Inked. Rebel is his past but needs his help now. As the story opens up, I did get a little confused as to the timeline. Maybe I wasn’t paying enough attention as fell under the voices of Connor Crais and Samantha Brentmoor. They both did a stellar job bringing these characters to life for me. The timeline issue did quickly catch up and I found myself already immersed in their worlds. Rocco and Rebel blended perfectly with their heat, all the ups and downs. This story is part of a series and mostly could be listened to as a stand-alone. It is still in the Gallo world and family tree. I died when Rebel met the family. I very much enjoyed listening to Ember.

Ember🔥🔥🔥

Rocco and Rebels story was an inferno. Their connection
was in my opinion like nothing we’ve seen before in the Gallo/Caldo fam. And Rocky just melting for Adeline adds to the whole package. This trio with a little Carmello in the mix is the perfect roller coaster of sexiness, laughter, sadness, and love. Samantha Brentmoor and Connor Crais are amazing as Rocco and Rebel. Another 5 STAR listen from the amazingly outstanding Chelle Bliss!

The chemistry is real!!

Rocco and Rebel are the emotional story. Ember is the perfect name for this story.  These two are more than scorching hot. They are an emotional blast that simmers. These two pulled one my heart. I love a good second chance romance and Rocco was insanely ultra-swoonable. Add in the most adorbs little girl, Adaline, Rebel's daughter and there's only fallen head over feet for these characters.

The narrators Conner Crais and Samantha Brentmoor brought this story to life. Crais is a real up-and-coming narrator. Every time I listen to his narrations, I'm more enthralled with his voice, with his ability to bring Rocco to life. He added a layer of swoon that made Rocco the swooniest of swooners. I can't wait to see where Crais takes us! Brentmoor pairs so well with Crais. These two share a chemistry that translates perfectly to the ears.

Sexy Suspense

Ember is a second chance, love after loss romantic suspense told in dual, alternating first-person POV. It is the seventh installment in the Men of Inked: Heatwave series of standalones, which can be read out of order (but I suspect readers may benefit from having some experience with the series before reading this).

After hearing great things about pervious books in this series, I was very excited to dive into this audiobook. I enjoyed it, but I felt like there was some set up of the Caldo family that would have helped me connect with this story a bit more if I had read some or all of the previous books. I am neutral on insta-love - I don’t go looking for it, but it doesn’t turn me away either - but in this case it seemed like Rocco’s rapid and consuming connection to Rebel was considered a family trait of sorts, and when all the men were sitting around basically mansplaining to Rocco his own feelings, I felt like I was missing something. The only way I could reconcile it was to fill in the gaps with my understanding of werewolves imprinting from Twilight (though, to be clear, this is a contemporary romance, no monsters involved). I like that Rocco was part of a warm and welcoming family, and the way both he and his family took in Rebel and her daughter made me swoon. I was a little disappointed that there was a lot of build-up regarding Rocco’s sexual preferences and history with a BDSM club, but we did not get to see this couple explore that much (other than a teasing mention in the epilogue).

I am very glad I chose the audiobook for this story. Both narrators gave wonderful performances, and Samantha Brentmoor has now officially solidified a place on my list of favorite narrators! She does such a phenomenal job not only bringing the heroine to life, but also portraying the hero during her chapters in a way that is true-to-character (and also pretty sexy - her male voice is on par with some of my favorite male narrators)!

Overall, I enjoyed this listen and am considering trying out some of the other books from earlier in this series to better my understanding of this interesting family.

I loved it!

This is the seventh book in the Men of Inked Heatwave Series, a next generation from the Men of Inked Series. I love the Gallo and Caldo families! It is better to listen to this series in order. Rocco and Rebel's story is sweet, emotional, and beautiful. Rebel's daughter is so cute!! This is a great second chance to love. The supporting characters are great. I love the family bonds in this series. Samantha Brentmoor and Connor Crais did a great job with the narration. I enjoyed it! Looking forward to listen to Singe, Carmello's story, the next book in the Series.

Loved It!!!

From the moment I started listening to Connor Crais and Samantha Brentmoor bring the characters of Rocco and Rebel to my ears. I was hooked. The chemistry between these two narrators is perfect for the story of Rocco and Rebel. I could feel the emotions of sadness, happiness and everything in between as I listened! It is always a pleasure to listen to a Chelle Bliss book it’s like catching up with old friends! Love the Gallo’s. Highly recommend Ember!!!

gimme more! 🔥🔥🔥🔥

Rocco & Rebel: TRIGGERS: domestic abuse, child abandonment, car accident, PTSD, BDSM. Holy shitake mushroom, my heart was in my throat! Especially with the way the previous book ended. If you didn't read book 6... Go now! If you did, as you know it ends with Izzy and Thomas getting the news that the twins, Rocco and Carmello were in a car accident. This book picks up just a little bit before the accident to set the scene. So Carmello and his girlfriend, Carrie decide to set up Rocco with Carrie's best friend, Rebel. Rocco have an immediate connection and have a very hot and steamy time at the cabin. But then the accident happens on the east to the party. In their fear and grief, Rebel pushes Rocco away and he promises to never fall in love. There's a time jump, years later and Rebel is in trouble, she contacts Carmello hoping to stay in the cabin with her daughter. When Carmello, Rocco and Thomas find out what exactly she's running from, the Caldo/Gallo clan go to work to A. Pull Rebel and Adeline into the family and B. Protect them from harm. And Rocco sees his chance to get back the woman of his dreams. The book is hot, sweet and funny and twins' mom, Izzy is unbelievably adorable. Loved this book. This series though... OMG.. my heart 💜

Loved Rocco & Rebel

I'm really loving these stories in Chelle Bliss' Men of Inked - Heatwave series! I haven't read/ listened to them all, but this is my 3rd one (out of order) and I've loved them all. This one had it all -- heart, humor, and heat. The scenes from the accident and hospital had my heart in my throat. The parts with Adeline were tender, cute, and funny (pink car).
Samantha Brentmoor and Connor Crais narrated, and were both excellent as Rebel, Rocco, and the myriad of family members and other characters. The characters of Rocco and Rebel were perfectly suited for one another and that chemistry was mirrored by/ evident in Samantha and Connor's performance. I really enjoyed it and can't wait to experience more stories from this series.
