My Business Grew When I Slowed Down
I thought the only way to succeed in business was to grind non-stop. This book flipped that belief on its head. When I started working slower and more mindfully, I actually got better results. This book showed me how to tune into intuition, not just analytics. It helped me build not just a business, but a life I love.

Peaceful and Helpful
Funny enough, I listened to this while sitting outside with my dog. As I slowed down, I noticed how happy she was just being with me no rush, no phone, no noise. The sloth tells me that presence is powerful, even for our pets. I learned how much calmness improves not just my well-being, but hers too.

Parenting Companion
After reading the chapter on stillness and rhythm, I changed my kids’ bedtime routine. We now read quietly, dim the lights early, and move more slowly. They fall asleep faster and wake up happier. I didn’t expect this book to help my parenting, but it absolutely did.

Camera Down, Live the Moment
As a photographer, I’m guilty of chasing the “perfect shot” instead of living in the moment. I learned that real memories happen when you’re fully present, not just snapping pictures. The author’s slow travel approach really hit me and I want to travel differently from now on. It’s not just about the photo, it’s about the feeling.

Seeing Nature Through New Eyes
As a yoga instructor, mindfulness is part of my life, but this book deepened my understanding of nature’s pace. I learned that even in travel, there’s a rhythm you can tune into if you listen. Every chapter felt like a gentle nudge toward a softer life and the sloth’s way of moving was a beautiful metaphor for living.

More Than Just a Saying
This book helped me truly understand what “Pura Vida” means beyond the tourist T-shirts. I learned that it's a lifestyle rooted in gratitude, simplicity, and joy. The examples of how locals embody this philosophy were inspiring without feeling preachy. It made me think about how I can strip away some of the unnecessary complications in my own life. I now see “Pura Vida” as a gentle guide rather than just a slogan.

Travel as a Form of Healing
I always thought travel was about excitement, but this book showed me it can also be deeply healing. I learned how immersing yourself in nature can help reset emotional and mental well-being. It made me think differently about why I seek out new places. Sometimes, you don’t need a thrill, you need peace.

Don't Rush Things
Perfectionism used to keep me stuck in cycles of burnout and procrastination. Embrace Your Inner Sloth showed me that progress doesn’t have to be perfect or fast. I learned to take gentle, consistent steps instead of waiting for the perfect moment.

The Day I Took My Shoes Off
Inspired by a chapter in this book, I spent an afternoon barefoot in my backyard. No phone, no podcast, just me and the earth. It sounds silly, but I felt alive. I recommend this book for people who are searching for their purpose and wants to reconnect with themselves.
