About this listen

Most people have eaten for emotional reasons at one time or another. It can be the go-to thought when there is stress. I remember many occasions at work when one person would say to colleagues, "I am stressed - who wants to get something with me (meaning something sweet)?"

We are all stressed and don't know how to handle it except by eating. But eating to manage emotions, over a long period of time, can end up having negative consequences. One of the biggest problems with using food to manage emotions is it can lead to weight issues and with the weight comes many more problems.

In this audiobook, you will find these chapters:

  • Emotional Eаtіng
  • Why Self-Compassion and Sеlf-Aссерtаnсе Arе the Kеуѕ to Optimal Living
  • Hоw tо Stop Cоmрulѕіvе Eаtіng - Dо Yоu Use thе Slоw-Mо Tесhnique
  • Whаt Arе Yоu Rеаllу Hungrу Fоr?
  • Our Brains and Decision-Making - Emоtіоnаl or Rаtіоnаl?
  • Whу We Ovеrеаt - How to Stор Ovеrеаtіng in 2 Stерѕ
  • Thе Imроrtаnсе of Nоt Ovеrеаtіng

The book repeats intros and plugs products such as NutriSystem. I'm not looking for a program, I'm looking for the route of Emotional Eating and a lifestyle change.

This book is disappointing. I want me credit back.

This book sounded promising at first. It began with helpful information and suggestions. I began hearing some slips and slurs from the reader, but nothing too distracting. The quality of the audio between the first and second chapters changed noticeably. At one point I heard what sounded like a cell phone chime in the background, then she repeated several pages of text, and finally I heard her someone talking her from another room and her response "yeah!" directly into the microphone. At one point the author does about a 10 minutes sales pitch for Nutrisystem. I didn't make it past that point (the end of chapter 3).

What was that?
