I like how it mirrors the other books- Dragon Riders. The book makes me want to read the second one.

It’s a good story line

This is a very well written book. Maybe a bit hard to follow. you do have to remember multiple characters. The author's magic system is different than other fantasy novels. Not a litrpg, which I don't care either way. I am pleasantly surprised to find this one.

why isn't this book popular?

This book was great! Well developed world with interesting species/humanoids each with their own motivations and strengths/weaknesses. If you want something new, this is it. AJ has creating something gripping and the narrator has a great voice making it easy to follow. If you are fire fighter/pyro, you will love it. If you like to root for the underdog, you will love it. If you know anything about Montana places, you will love the easter eggs.

well developed, immersive!

I really enjoyed this book. Looking forward to find out what happens next. I may have found my next fantasy series to enjoy.

engaging story

This book may be a good book for some but for me, it was incredibly difficult to find enjoyable.

First and foremost, i generally enjoy books that stick to a singular character’s perspective. Of what I read of this book, it kept jumping from perspective to perspective; which was an immediate negative for me.

That alone was probably enough of a reason to drop this book and move on, but on top of that; I felt like I was dropped into the middle of the story. A ton of characters were introduced, the premise is only explained through character dialogue, and significant events are taking place while i’m kind of scratching my head trying to figure out why I even care.

Again, this book may be good for some people, but as someone who has difficulty remembering names, and doesn’t enjoy long dialogue sessions; where nothing tangible is actually taking place; I found this book very boring.

I couldn’t read this.
