About this listen
First in the series The Careworn Soul, Enli's Impossible Quest is a tale of action and adventure in a world of magic and monsters that explores the idea that not everyone was meant to be a hero.
Since the time of its founding, the Kingdom of Gh'mia has endured an endless siege from a ceaseless horde of monsters. Every year, thousands upon thousands of soldiers and civilians are slain at the hands, teeth, and claws of the chimeric beastmen, a force of destruction that is ever fought, but never defeated. But hope remains, for though the victims of the terrible onslaught have long since accepted their fate, the right person in the right place may be all it takes to set them on the course toward salvation.
Enli, a young woman who, as a child, survived the destruction of her village, has trained since an early age as a member of the volunteer militia of her adopted home. Working as an assistant to both a wizard and a blacksmith, she has found a life she is contented with, but destiny has other plans. On the eve of her sixteenth birthday, Enli is tasked by a being she calls "The Light" with saving not only her kingdom, but the entire world from the threat of the beastmen. Determined to see the quest fulfilled, she sets out in search of a hero more equal to the task.

Great Adventure for all Ages.
Enli’s Impossible Quest joins Enli on her more than challenging adventure as she risks all because it’s her destiny to “do the right thing." Brave and lovable she is determined to make things right and though facing impossible odds Enli sees the possible and keeps going. Like Dorothy in “The Wizard of Oz”, you get to meet her unlikely group of friends in pursuit of this noble cause! Still, there’s a joker in the deck. What exactly is Enli’s origin?
The story is terrific and well told by the narrator. I thoroughly enjoyed this tale suitable for all ages and I can’t wait for the next in the series!
Read it and enjoy!

A Journey Worth Taking: Enli’s Impossible Quest Will Ignite Your Adventurous Spirit!
Enli’s Impossible Quest is an incredibly imaginative book filled with delightful characters and excellent storytelling. It includes themes of self-discovery, adventure, friendship, loyalty, survival, and more. The narration is done so well, and the narrator crafts distinct voices for each character so convincingly that I often found myself thinking there was more than one narrator! If you enjoy fantasy stories like The Wheel of Time or the Everworld series, this will definitely scratch that same itch without being overly complex.
This story is a wonderful gift to those who long for a sense of purpose in their hearts. It’s a callback to the spirited wonder and yearning for adventure we all once had as children and young adults, which often fades as the realities of life unfold. The number of characters is easy to follow, and each one is expertly crafted to spark curiosity in the reader without being overwhelming. Also, the author does a fantastic job of highlighting strong female role models without ever being preachy.
Overall, this book is a must-read if you’re looking for a great adventure story in the medieval fantasy genre. I can’t wait for the next one in the series!
