Moving and Inspirational!
This book was sooo captivating that I listened every chance I could and had it done in under 48 hours! I absolutely appreciate the author himself reading it--as I think that makes audiobooks all the more powerful and overall enjoyable compared to a narrator.
From going over his hardships, how he got there, hurdles to getting out, and the final updates, the story was entirely relatable, authentic and motivational the entire time!
I've definitely read my fair share of "inspiring" books, but generally they are authors who have it all together and always have. Hearing about Tim's struggles and how he changed his mindset as time went on definitely helps me put my own "problems" into perspective. If he can come back from the rock bottom he was at, then I can change in my substantially more miniscule ways.
At times while listening, I was glad to have been alone in my car while tears rolled down my cheeks. This book definitely took me on a roller coaster of emotions, and I especially love the underlying love story beneath, even though that was not the focus.
I can't possibly recommend this book enough! No matter who you are, what you believe, or whatever stage of life you're at, there will be some major takeaway for everyone from Tim's story!

Inspiring. Relatable. Motivating.
So enjoyed listening to Tim’s journey. I’ve followed him on his FB page which I found when researching what a plant based diet can do for you. He claims the book is not meant to be a motivational book, but it sure is motivating me to become healthier. With everything he has endured, this book could have been all about the darkness his life was enveloped in. Instead, it is a book that centers on recognizing the good instead of focusing on your hardships and what you don’t have. A truthful story from a “regular “ guy.
Surprisingly, Tim’s narration is smooth and quite enjoyable to listen to. You’d think he was a professional narrator! I listen to audiobooks all the time and know firsthand that the narration can ruin a great story.
I was a little disappointed that he didn’t go more into his plant based diet and was looking for more information about that, but he clearly stated that this was not what this book is about. Maybe he’ll follow up with another book that covers more on that??
All in all, a very enjoyable read. Can’t wait to see how his next Iron Man competition turns out in July. I’ll be following along on his FB page and rooting for him! Good luck Tim!
