About this listen

This recording shows why Deepak Chopra is considered one of the great pioneers in the field of mind-body medicine. Here he offers compelling answers to the eternal questions of identity, origin, and meaning. His premise is that people make the mistake of relying on their senses to define their experience of reality. This limits their interactions and makes them prisoners, out of touch with realities that lie beyond the material world. He explains that there is no difference between observer and observed; it is all one shared experience. Realizing this truth, Deepak says, frees people from their sensory-created prison to experience a more nurturing and fulfilling life.

The author's calm, uplifting voice gives these ideas heft and power, and the relaxed guitar interludes woven into the recording provide a pause for listeners to contemplate more deeply. Deepak expands the discussion by citing such luminaries as T. S. Eliot, Nietzsche, Rumi, Tagore, and Patanjali, as well as citing scientific experiments and spiritual texts.

Just what I needed.

I have been a student of metaphysics for a number of years and though I enjoy studying the subject this audio book provides a quick summary of the basics in 40 minutes. Deepak's presentation is relaxed, clear and direct. It's perfect to listen to before getting out of bed each morning or just before falling asleep at night. I recommend this audio book for anyone that could benefit from a thorough but brief summary of the purpose of this journey and how to stay on track.

Deep water ahead...

This book is deep...if you're new to the thoughts of self awareness and understanding the void, this book may be too much for you. This book strips your questions away and leaves understanding that we are a part of this timeless boundless void that is creation. Layer by layer he peels back your social and worldly beliefs and shows you how much more you are. Great to listen to but only if your ready to dive into the deep end.
