About this listen
Holly Evernight belongs to a very special family of inventors. They have nobly served the Society for the Suppression of Supernaturals for generations. And Holly may have the most special creative powers of them all. But her skills are about to be tested as she tries to save the life of a half-man-half machine whose clockwork heart is ticking down to the bitter end...
William Thorne was a rebel, a hired assassin for the SOS's greatest rival, before he was taken, tortured, and transformed. Now his mind and soul battles with his body as he becomes less and less human. But the true fight for his humanity will be waged within his heart.

Excellent!
Any additional comments?
Really enjoyed this instalment in the series! I loved learning more about Holly and Will and was happy with how things turned out for them! The snippets with Adam and Eliza May as well as Mab have me really looking forward to the next book too! I'm also hoping Sin gets a book! I was really interested to finally meet him and would love to know how he's getting on with his sisters since discovering who he really was!

Great characters!
I really enjoyed listening to Holly and Will's story. Holly is a surprising character full of paradoxes - frightened but incredibly brave, rational yet passionate, fragile and tough at the same time. After meeting Will she has to completely change her attitude towards his kind. She does so in spite of the general disapproval of all her friends. You just can't help loving her. Will is more straightforward but just as lovable. Fierce, sensual but unexpectedly also gentle and vulnerable.
Just like all the previous books in the series, the plot is inventive. It doesn' give you the slightest chance to get bored. Holly and Will's story is simply 'bloody' great.
