About this listen

Liar, liar! She’s on fire...literally!

A night of fun turns deadly when the bride-to-be is found dead and in flames, and no one saw a thing.

Twenty. Twenty-one. Twenty-two.

What really happened? No one has a clue.

Twenty-two people are questioned, but nothing is found. So, one by one, Pepper narrows the suspects down. It becomes clear that everybody has something to hide. The closer Pepper gets to truth, the more everyone lies.

Somebody saw something. Someone knows the truth. Someone is a murderer.

The question is: who?

the book started out really good. i was intrigued up until the end. the ending was a little disappointing and the use of other narrators could have made this book shine.

The story was full of twist and turns. Not a boring moment. Loved it. The audio was off and editing could have been better.

Thrilling story

This was a suspenseful listen. All the “little” lies that had Pepper believing someone close killed Olivia was a good way to keep me engaged. I was on pins and needles waiting to see who actually did it. Finding out who the killer was and how blew my mind.

The truths will set you free or NOT...OMG I almost got sick of Pepper but she GOT the truth out of EVERYBODY lol As always BM Hardin took my mind on a fundamental roller coaster.

Very good story line. Every time you think you know what’s going on there is a twist! Loved it.

My rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️🔥

My thoughts: 📱2:59:52 Ch 5. - This is busy with reveals but lacks foundation.

These 3 stars are generous. This story was meh. There wasn't a solid foundation to build this story on. Then several of the things that hindered the investigation were just stupidity and procrastination on the sister's part. Why are you giving your sister's electronics to her SO if they had separate residents? If you know someone is lying why are you waiting to confront them? Why would the police think this was an accident? That investigation was so thin it was air. Then her radar was terrible, people would give you pause and she'd keep talking. SMH. Also, not enough men to go around, I don't like super messy. The reveals and reasons belong in a cozy mystery they were so lame. This was my first urban thriller, unless Brandon Massey does that too. I consider returning it at first but I finished it because I was told it was good and I don't like the author losing money. It was poorly written in my opinion, so I was shocked to discover the author offers ghostwriting services on her site. The narration was the other issue, there were a few times the narrator used the wrong voice during a conversation and confused me for a second on who was talking.

Recommend to others: Maybe. I wasn't a fan but I think this would be 5 stars for many who love Urban Fiction and are looking for domestic suspense.
