About this listen
***Plunge into the depths of the Mariana Trench with "Eyes in the Abyss," a gripping novel by first-time fiction author Thom Robbins, where the boundaries between natural and supernatural blur. ***

The story repeats itself so much that the plot barely moves except by way of a timer that ticks down, at least in the first half. It almost loops back on itself in every chapter. The main characters are introduced well enough but they're poorly written. The author spends way too much time hammering home their shortcomings. Half of the run time is wasted on this as filler and it just makes for a very dull story. It's not enough to put me to sleep but it's very aggravating when I hear the same lines over and over with little variation for 4 hours straight.
This had the potential to be a good story if the writer had put a little more effort into the plot and avoiding repetitive storytelling. It would almost make a decent suspense novel as is but for the repetition. To be honest it almost reads as if it was written by AI and the editor if he used one just skimmed the manuscript looking for grammar errors. I would expect a story of this quality from a horror or suspense story channel on YouTube but have come to expect better quality on Audible. If you like a very slow burn suspense story with lots of repetition then this may be up your alley but it's not for me.
The voice performance on the other hand, was okay. Pretty good actually for a computer generated voice, so no issues there.
The writing needs A LOT of work
