About this listen
After moving to a small beach town for an ER position, I find an injured dog. Someone dials 911 instead of animal control for help.
When Brad arrives, he’s livid to be called for a “canine emergency,” and I’m furious at his insensitivity.
We’re forced to work together where I get to see his grumpiness turn to smiles and gentleness.
Over beachside dinners, we eventually fall for each other. He’s humble, and I’m amazed to hear that his family owns most of the island and he’s a billionaire.
When my ex-boyfriend arrives in our ER, Brad mistakes my befriending him for more than that, and he walks away.
If I can’t get Brad to see that he’s the only one for me, I may lose him forever.

Sweet story - awkward AI narration
The story line was adorable and the “crisis “ element was fairly tame… but the entire work could have used more details and depth. I’ve heard some AI narration that was incredibly human-like in emotive phrasing - this was not one. If it were my book, I’d get the audio re-worked so it doesn’t distract from the sweetness.
