The following is a review of another book, but, what's most important, it's a review of the same "author." Author is in quotes for reasons which follow.

I purchased this two-part book after first purchasing one part of it as the Audible edition of the Tao Te Ching. The audible edition had a virtual voice and, while I suspected even the author was artificial, there were ways that the subject material was distilled that was appealing. It was not until I started the first part of this physical copy of the book that I realized that the whole thing was artificial and really poorly done at that.

Anyone familiar with the I Ching knows that the foundation of the work is the trigram; two of which make up a hexigram; a total of which makes 64. Pretty fundamental, huh? It's like saying the atom is made up of electrons, protons and neutrons. Except, the book totally leaves out one of the trigrams fundamental parts. In the chapter on "The Trigrams Detailed," there is no "Lake" trigram. And, perhaps even worse, 5 of the remaining 7 trigrams are totally wrong in their symbolic representation. How could this possibly happen? The AI hallucinated. This is something that happens in artificial intelligence:

AI hallucination refers to the phenomenon where AI models, particularly large language models (LLMs), generate outputs that are factually incorrect, nonsensical, or inconsistent with the information they were trained on.

These outputs can be presented as if they were accurate, making them difficult to identify as false.

How many errors in the book? As the model says, it's difficult to identify. But, what we do know for sure is that in its most fundamental aspect, this book is deeply flawed. My recommendation? Avoid this and perhaps all AI generated sources of information. Unless you know an author or authors and know that you can trust them, do yourself a service and Avoid!

Jeanne Lee is the author of both this selection and the one I just reviewed. Or perhaps, the human Jeanne Lee, the author of neither. How many other faudulent, fictitious authors are on audible? Who can say. But I'll bet there are many more than one.
