Great Premise, Production is Dated

What I loved: Christian based short story and promotion of prayer within the family and in our country. The story is about a young couple during the depression who are in love and want to get married. The girl (woman) is reluctant because of financial hardship, but the boy (man) is optimistic. The do get married and through thick and thin, they survive and have three sons. They long for a little girl, and finally get pregnant with a sweet baby girl, whom they name Mary. However, they lose the baby at birth. The father has to go off to war, but throughout the time, the family sticks together, which I admire greatly. The father loses his best friend on the battlefield. In the end, the couple and three sons is able to adopt the little girl of the best friend. It is a good story, but not a GREAT one. It is too simplistic and unrealistic, in my opinion. I have really liked some of the other Family Theater productions narrated by Tony La Frano, and will definitely try more. All of these are family friendly and show respect to the Lord and to each family member.
