About this listen
Farseek Mercenary Series
Commander’s Mate – Farseek Brigade returns to find their world bombed to ruin by the Sargan Empire. Over a million people are missing, taken to become slaves by the Sargans. With their ten dreadnaught warships, they vow to find their missing people. Because their mission is unsanctioned by the Consortium, they dub themselves the Farseek Mercenaries.
Among the slaves they rescue are four women abducted from Earth. Commander General Zared Maktu recognized Harper Avery as his soul mate or solmatu. He laments that it’s not the best time to start a romance amid their dangerous mission. But finding one’s solmatu results the ultimate relationship with a bond mate.
Lieutenant’s Mate - This is Pyrr and Scarlet’s story. Lieutenant Commander Pyrron Advantu, is a man used to getting what he wants. Although the timing was all wrong, nothing had ever felt so right. How could they make a life together in the face of the mission they had sworn to complete? Were these blissful times in her arms all they would ever have?
Sahvin’s Mate – This is Sahvin and Nora’s story. Sahvin Kazza, a Narovian feline humanoid was an alien undercover on Earth when he was kidnapped by alien slavers thinking he was human. He was forced to work the mines on Breskaa where he thought his life would end. Known for the irresistible pheromones felines give off when they find their soulmates, Nora is stunned when Sahvin's innocent touch sets off an uncontrollable urge to mate with him.
Argen’s Mate is Zoey’s and Argen’s story. Argen is a Farseek warrior sent to a prison planet because he wasn’t slave material. Argen never thought landing on the prison world would be his lucky break. He meets Zoey on the rescue ship. He walks up to her table and takes her hand. The attraction between them all most crackles.…

I love the rescued people
I love that the Mercenaries rescued so many, no matter what species they were. The only real problem with the story was the Virtual voice, it has no emotions.

A bit predictable but overall good storyline.
The story itself is good however I wish that the battle scenes were a little more developed and elaborated on. The virtual voice is sometimes off putting as it's inflections are not always appropriate for the storyline. Speaking of which there are a few areas of dialog that is a bit trite at times. In general though the storyline is interesting if a bit predictable. I did enjoy it overall but I think that with a real actor in place of the virtual voice it would have been better.

Narration is terrible.
I'm sorry to say, I couldn't finish listening to the entire audiobook set. The narration is so robotic and monotone that I just couldn't handle it. There was zero personality for any of the characters. You need a narrator that can make books "come alive". I think I would have enjoyed these books more if I had either read them myself. Or if they had used a skilled male and female co-narration.
