About this listen

Perfect recipe for a thriller mix together: knowing when you are going to die...guns...and an election. Add Russians and stir.

Final Act is a fast-paced sequel to Final Notice and has been described as simultaneously realistic and surrealistic...and totally engrossing. It is set in today’s chaotic political climate and gun-crazy culture and features the “only slightly” sci-fi watch - the VT2 - that monitors blood chemistry so accurately that it can predict the wearer’s death within 10, 20, or 30 days.

But while Final Notice asked the question “What would you do if you knew - for certain - that you had a couple weeks to live?", Final Act asks, “What might others do if they knew that you only had a couple weeks to live?” And when those “others” include Bratva (the Russian Mafia) and the SVR (formerly the KGB), you have a pause resister that turns “what if” into “what is”.

Final Act picks up the VT2 story during a presidential election year, exposing the danger to everyone - especially the candidates. Crafted with suspense, dark humor, irony, and a dash of romance, Final Act casts a clear light on the deep divisions within our country, divisions that have been widened and exploited by a malignant foreign power.

Twists and turns!

Well-written. Held my attention throughout.

Intense, Intricate, and Gripping Thriller

Final Act by Van Fleisher is an intense sequel to Final Notice in The Final Political Thriller Trilogy, and it doesn't disappoint. The story follows Alek Belikov, who, consumed by grief after the murder of his wife and son, becomes embroiled in a web of deception and violence orchestrated by his friend Vik Vasin. After receiving a suspicious payout following the death of his family's killer, Alek finds himself at the center of a conspiracy involving fake law enforcement and a dangerous new use for the VT2 sports watch, which has become a tool for high-profile assassinations. The stakes escalate as the country approaches an election, and Alek, along with his allies, races against time to thwart a looming crisis.

The plot's intricacy and relentless pace are the highlights of this gripping narrative. Fleisher's superb character development and sustained suspense keep the reader on the edge of their seat. I found no significant flaws to mention and am pleased to give this book a positive rating and good recommendation. It's a must-read for fans of fast-paced political crime thrillers.

its a fanciful book

The consummation was a little amazing yet an extraordinary outcome. A few stories need a cheerful closure of counterbalance the pity of the book

Final Act

This was a really good sequel. It was not as good as book 1,but the author told us it wouldn't be.lol We live in a wrold where a watch tells us when we will die.Others want to know how to use that to their advantage. It is open ended with an election coming up...how timely! Chris Koprowski was the perfect narrator.I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.'

Not over yet

I just love how this story mirrors current events, politics, etc. It all feels so real and I bought into it easily and readily. A fast paced page turner that continues to captivate the imagination and keep me wanting more. I liked how Patel improved the functions if the VT2 to be a helpful health warning system. Looking forward to the final book. I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this and am giving an honest review. The narrator did a great job with voices and expressions.

A little too political & busy for me

I thought the concept of people knowing their "expiration date" was interesting. I'm not sure I would want to know when my final day on earth was going to be. Beyond that it was just too many things all thrown together for me. I like complex plots, but could have enjoyed this more with less complexity. Knowing when you're going to die, guns, Russians, and an election...too much. I found the audiobook to be just way to much verbiage vs plot/action for my tastes. But for others, they may really enjoy the story.
