Publisher's summary

Previously titled Finding Narragansett

For years, Julian has kept her emotional struggle a secret from her mother. Now, at 21, she's still unsure whether she should once and for all learn about the family that didn't accept her, or continue living her life with the emptiness in her heart.

Jules finally makes the decision to return to Narragansett, Rhode Island after 10 years, upon hearing the news of her father's death. It's supposed to be an "in and out" trip: make peace with her heart, then return to Manhattan immediately. Only, she has no idea just what her deceased father has in store for her.

Several obstacles continue to prolong her stay, and over time, Jules finds herself starting to trust the family that had denied her in the past.

But just as she starts to discover the other side that was missing, Julian gets entangled in a web of lies and unexpectedly finds romance in the midst of it all.

Oh my goodness! Wonderful!!

*I received this in exchange for an honest review.
Julian is a “bastard” child who has never been accepted by her father’s family, since she is the result of an affair. After her father passes, she has gone back to town for the funeral. She tries to leave town after the funeral but is forced to stay for the will reading. Her father left her the entire estate: his house, and the remainder of his wealth (he did leave some for his wife and other daughter). He also asked her to live there for 1 month before making a decision and learn about the family business. Of course the wife and family is outraged and freaking out. (It was quite funny listening to them freak out). Julian finds out surprising information and doesn’t know who to trust, especially since most of them hate her anyway. Several twists are down this road with Julian, but every single one of them is worth it! There are characters to love, as well as ones that you will love to hate. With this being book 1, I can’t wait to find out what is next in this world that Shane Morgan has created! Finding Julian is a wonderful book of a woman finding out who she TRULY is, not what anyone wants her to be. It is a great lesson for every person, young and old, and it is brought to light in a smooth way that makes it an easier pill to swallow. I hope that you get this book and start reading or listening immediately. A full 5 STARS from me!

WONDERFUL, TOUCHING, GREAT

Who was your favorite character and why?

Julian...she is a really good girl!

What about Caitlin Kelly’s performance did you like?

Caitlin did a great job, she was believable and made me really like Julian...

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When Julian and her mom finally talk about her dad and what really happened...

Any additional comments?

** I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review **

Julian has never known her father and when he dies she goes to Narragansett to attend his funeral, well her dad had money and when the will is read leaving most of the estate to Julian...things get ugly...but there is an underlying mystery here and it could be deadly for Julian if she is not careful...this has it all....love sorrow, hate, romance, deceit....it was really good...I listened in one sitting...The narration was great, and the story was wonderful! I recommend!!!

Estranged Daughter Meets 'New' Family and More

Julian has grown up the daughter of a single mother with very little reference to her father. All her mother will say about him is negative.

When her father dies at age 21 she makes the decision to go to his funeral -no matter how absent he was- to close this chapter on her life.

Her plan to make a quick trip in for the funeral, spend the night and leave the next day is continually foiled by many different situations change and circumstances change. The first and most surprising is Jules being forced to sit in with the family as her father's will is read.

She begins the journey very reluctantly, as I said the circumstances seem to change as each day passes.

A good book that kept my attention the entire time. It is titled as a trilogy but is perfect as a standalone as well.

*I was gifted a copy of this book in exchange for my review. Currently this is the only book in the trilogy available on Audible. If any others had been available I would have snatched them up. If the others come out soon I may be tempted to buy them, however if it is a year from now or longer...

Caitlin Kelly does an excellent job portraying the characters written by Shane Morgan. She is quite talented in performing both male and female characters with the subtleties of speech found between the younger and older characters. Each voice is unique and made listening easy and a pleasure.
