About this listen
Things were definitely not back to normal when Paige left for school on Monday morning with a sack lunch her mom made. She had always bought a hot lunch with all of her friends and wasn't sure how she was going to explain her way out of that situation!
If that wasn't bad enough, she found out in concert choir that their choir sweaters would be arriving this week and the balance of $50 was due. She hoped her mother had set aside the money, but the way things were going, she wasn't counting on it.
She thought about her Sunday school teacher, Sister Mitchell. She was a single lady probably in her late forties or early fifties...in a wheelchair. She wasn't married, didn't have children, was plain to look at but seemed to be one of the happiest people she knew. Why was she so happy? Her life wasn't what Paige would consider ideal. She always had a smile on her face and something positive to say about anyone or anything.
Her mother had encouraged her to go and talk to Sister Mitchell, but she was too embarrassed. Surely her life would get better soon...and things would get back to normal. Life continued to get worse, and finally Paige knew the only thing left for her to do was to go and visit Sister Mitchell to find out how she did it. How could she be so happy when she had lost so much?
Don't miss reading what the secret to happiness is, along with finding the true meaning of Christmas! It's a Christmas story you'll always treasure!
