About this listen

** I can't believe I agreed to this! **

Daisy is struggling to get over her past.
Ian would do anything to fix it.

When these high school sweethearts get a second chance,
their chemistry is stronger than ever.
But will their differences keep them apart?

Ever dreamed of being famous? I did, but not like this.
I’m Cake Girl—from the viral video where the groom shoves cake in the bride’s face.

That video cost me my marriage which, let’s face it, was doomed from the start since the groom, Ian Kelly, is downright evil. Five years later, I’m still fighting flashbacks. But now I have a shot at the two things I want most—love and redemption.

I agreed to be on Time Warp, the tv show that gives couples a second chance. I told the producers I did not want a second chance with Ian Kelly, the groom who ruined my life.

Sadly, they didn’t listen.

Now I’m stuck with my evil ex for five days while the cameras roll.
Will Ian show me he’s worthy of a second chance or will we both come out of the experiment worse off than we were before?

reality tv

The virtual voice is pretty good. One thing I did not like is that there is no variation in the voices of multiple characters. It was sometimes difficult to tell who was speaking. The story was enjoyable, though not totally believable. Daisy is approached to be on a popular reality TV show. Instead of thinking it is pretty unusual, she just decides she has nothing going on that week, so okay. She also convinces herself that even though a video of her wedding day went viral, it probably won't be her ex-husband they bring on the show. It wasn't logical at all. I really liked Ian's character and it was sweet to see his redemption.
Clean romance, descriptive kisses.

Cake crushes the couple

This was a quick and quirky read. I enjoyed it very much. Traveling though the past ups and downs would be hard on anyone, especially for a reality show.

(3.5 stars) - Cute story

Lighthearted fun! The plot is a little weak, but it posed some thoughtful questions along the way

Virtual Voice isn't remotely close to replacing real narrators, but is quite impressive for an AI reader! And I appreciate its availability for books that I wouldn't otherwise be able to listen to as audiobooks
