About this listen

Anthony Giardino, professor of English Literature, writes his next book from his favorite café when his future is threatened by a forbidden love; a love that hinders his emotional life and plunges him into depression.
Rocio, a waitress ten years younger than the writer, charms him with her beauty. Her charm makes the professor forget his promise to God to care for his terminally ill wife until death; at home, his wife sick for seventeen years needs his love and care, but his love for Rocio now leads Anthony to reconsider his wife's wish: she wants her death, her euthanasia.
Previously opposed to such an option for his dying wife as his feelings for Rocio grow, Anthony reconsiders euthanizing his wife and rescinds his promise to die with her to assuage his fear of death. However, in a moment of reflection and contrite heart, he reaffirms his intention not to abandon his terminally ill wife.Anthony agonizingly ends his relationship with Rocio.
Falling in love outside of her marriage and sinking into a forbidden love is against her Christian faith and reaffirms her promises. With absolute determination he vows not to abandon her in death and will seek a divorce. With his decision, Anthony rejects his own happiness and last chance to fill the void in his life and be with a new healthy woman by his side.
Agonizingly he renounces his love for Rocio, a woman a decade younger than him. He must forget himself and the woman he now loves, but when Rocio marries another man, and his wife dies because of his final wish euthanasia, Anthony, now a widower, sinks into an extreme depression dragging the professor almost to mental insanity for the love of Rocio hundiendoseem depressive episodes.
But under the care of Cecilia, a clinical counselor, and coincidentally Rocio's mother who introduced them both at the beginning of their relationship, Anthony Giardino regains his emotional balance.
When Rocio, two years after leaving the café to get married, and now divorced, returns in search of Anthony's love for her, she discovers that Anthony and Cecilia, his mother, are now lovers.
Upon her return, Rocio confesses to the professor that she left to marry another man to avoid divorce from Anthony and more pain for his dying wife. Her confession whirls the three into a tornado of confusion just as the clinical counselor, an attractive woman eleven years older than Anthony, and a widow, too, falls into a love trinomial with them.
An abyss of love and passion pulls a daughter, a mother and a man into a love triangle and the lovers must travel paths of jealousy, doubt and pain before finding happiness.
In search of a new life, Anthony wants to marry Rocio; however, his mother's life is threatened by multiple myoma, a fatal cancer, and Tony is torn between his loyalty to Ceci and his divided love for the woman who cared for him. The lovers live in a trinomial of irresolvable love.
Now, two years or more after their first meeting at the café, Rocio unknowingly fights against her own mother for the man she loves. Both seek to be happy with the same man when a new life grows in Rocio's womb promising her happiness at last.
Anthony embraces his paternity with pride as Cecilia prays to win the battle against her cancer and live to see her grandson, the son of the man she also loves. Now the new life, the blood of the three lovers, is in the hands of Rocio, who is holding on to her bitter secret.
A new life smiled for the three of them, but clouded by the past, happiness is at the end of an uncertain road; a road of death, life and love.
