About this listen

Breeze is on the move again, aboard Leap of Faith. There is trouble lurking in every port. He gets mixed up with a cocaine kingpin, talks his way out of a Cuban jail, and takes on a pretty refugee as a passenger. His trusty trawler takes him from the Keys to the Caribbean and even to the Chesapeake Bay, where he contemplates turning himself in to the authorities.

This is a timely tale that uses current events to shape the storyline - from our diplomatic relations with Cuba to the social impact of Fifty Shades of Grey. Robinson has proven himself to be a master of the nautical narrative. His adventure stories are part John D. MacDonald and part Papa Hemingway. Following Breeze has action to burn. You'll feel for Breeze as he struggles with his inner demons. You won't guess how it ends.

Where does Following Breeze: Trawler Trash, Volume 2 rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

In the top half, a fun read.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

It was entertaining. Some things don't make logical sense like why he didn't get himself out of financial and legal trouble when he initially got money from the wrongful death settlement in the first book.

What about Michael D. Naftel Jr.’s performance did you like?

He learned the proper pronunciation of Boca Grande and Captiva in the second book which is good. He needs to spend a few years living in Florida to get the accent or at least mellow his staccato voicing, but not a bad job on this second book.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, it was fun.

A fun read

I'm having fun hanging out with this guy named Breeze. He's a loveable misfit. This time he goes big in money & boats. I am currently reading book 3 in this series on kindle because I'm impatient to wait for the audio version to arrive. It will be great like the others when it comes out on audio. Cool. Breeze.

Have you dreamed of being a pirate? I have! This book gives me hope! No parrot or eye patch but I probably could sell a little pot some time.

This is like junk food! I can't stop!

Let me start out by saying that Ed Robinson is a fantastic author, I love Breeze as a character and have read several of Ed's books. The narration was painful to listen to, almost as if the narrator read the entire book one line/sentence at a time. Even speeding up the reading didn't make it more smooth. I definitely recommend listening to a sample to make sure you can stand the voice inflections before purchase. As for me, I'll go back to supporting the old trawler trash via purchases on my kindle.

Poor narrator, fantastic story
