Publisher's summary

Kelsey had a secret. (Actually, she had several secrets.)

While most people in university were going on dates or hanging with friends between classes, Kelsey was unknowingly entering the underground world of sex work. Juggling the demands of being a college athlete while battling with depression and her own self-worth, Kelsey was enticed the first time she heard her college professor mutter the words “sugar baby.”

In search of money and attention, Kelsey found herself slowly entangled in an industry where she would inadvertently be groomed, ensnared, and ultimately, exploited. Moving to Texas after college, Kelsey scaled her business and began jet-setting around the world, clinging to the illusion that she was in control—that is, until an encounter with the Holy Spirit changed everything.

In Folly, Daniels paints an intricate portrait of her path into sex work and the difficult journey to untangle herself from the lure of an industry that had shaped her. In this unfiltered, witty and raw account of Kelsey’s time as an Escort, Folly showcases the dark subculture that exists behind the veil of luxury. This story is a testament to the power of God’s grace and mercy, and His ability to meet His children exactly where they are, regardless of setting or circumstance.

I listened to this in less than 24 hours

I could not stop listening to this book!!!

Kelsey’s story is captivating and her voice is amazing for audible. I am so glad she’s reading her own story here. I really think any reader/listener can find something to relate to here and her story of finding God and finding herself is incredible. Kelsey’s ability to tell a story is amazing, the way she described places and events clearly painted the picture in my mind. She is truly a talent!

I hope kelsey continues to write as I am a fan for life now.

Raw, Real, and enlightening. It's a cautionary tale and a Redemption story.

Kelsey’s story is raw, honest, and enlightening. The way she narrates her story is engaging and gripping.

Some parts of this memoir are hard to hear, yet the way they are delivered allows you to take in the story while not feeling a large trigger from the information.

I will say I believe there should be a trigger warning in this book for SA, PA, and MA for a young child to an adult woman.

This is my first time ingesting a novel by binging it in two sittings. I will be listening to it again because, at points, I found myself drifting off into memories of my own life’s abuse. Because of how good a writer and narrator Kelsey is, I felt safe with her journey to explore my own at points, but now I would like to listen again.

Kelsey, if you ever read this review, please know you have a gift. I await future novels written and narrated by you.

Your story should be a Netflix special. It is a cautionary tale and redemption story.
