About this listen

Greed. Power. Sin.

It all comes with the gavel.

Blurs the lines between church and state.

But the Knightdale Charter of the Satan's Knights MC is my life.

And I'd do anything for this club.

Like letting the best woman I ever had slip through my fingertips.

A sinfully beautiful spitfire, she's my better half in every way.

My twin flame. My everything.

My biggest regret.

But there's no making things right between us.

Because I'm the reason she's alone yet again.

And if our past wasn't enough to put out the fire in her soul, my crimes certainly will be.

So Good

Greed. Power. Sin. It all comes with the gavel. Blurs the line between church and state. But the Knightdale Charter of the Satan's Knights MC is my life. And I'd not do anything for this club. I am always so excited to be back in the Satan's Knight world. This time they are in North Carolina which is my home state and I was so excited I about couldn't stand it. This book didn't disappoint either. I don't think anyone writes a MC book that will tear your heart out, teach you what brotherhood really is and have you on the edge of your seat in a really short time span. Maverick and Holly are that couple we all wish we could be and were just perfect and connected in every way possible. But when brotherhood calls it calls and Maverick has some hard choices to make, even if that means breaking his own heart. But it isn't very long until things throw them back together and the real stories starts. I loved these character's I loved this book and I loved that we were in North Carolina. I so can not wait until the next book because this series is off to one heck of an amazing start.

Second Chance MC

Maverick and Holly, Mattie’s young, had children as he was part of an MC. The life in an MC resulted in Maverick’s absence and failing in his marriage to Holly. Maverick and Holly continued to parent children and Maverick realizes he still loves Holly, but Holly has moved on, or has she.
The turns in their relationship and lifestyle of the MC keep the story moving and the reader/listener involved. The characters are likable which always determines if I like a story or not, and I definitely liked this story and drawn to the rest of the series.
Great narration.

Lots of fun is packed in here...

Written in alternating, third-person POVs, this drops the reader into the chaos that is these leads’ lives—it drew me in right away. It packs great secondary characters—children, other MC members, and honestly: the world itself. This author seems to have a strength in world-building.

I was impressed by how much drama was packed into such a quick read—it was fun, completely satisfying and packs all sorts of action while hitting a ton of fun tropes.

Divorced co-parents.
Mentions of cheating.
Male lead in an MC.
Crime.
Rival gangs / gang war.
Vi0lence.
Forced proximity.
Danger.
Bodyguard romance.
Second-chance romance.

If I took a shot every time I heard the phrase ‘on my knees’, I’d have d!3d of alcohol-p0isoning—that was a bit much. Otherwise, this was a really fun read that has me wanting to explore more from this author.

4 stars.

🎧 Audio:
The overall sound quality was nearly flawless—I feel like we can always count on PFP for a smooth listen.
Both narrators are great, Puckett is actually a fave of mine, so I enjoyed the performances. I did, at times, fail to notice there was a male POV change, because the male narrator just used the one voice throughout. Once I knew who was speaking though, everything was great. 4 stars on this front. 🦩

Eh..its okay but not my jam

While I loved the devotion these two have for each other but it seemed so inappropriate since she was married. I was not a huge fan of that scenario. Or of him using other women and picturing his ex. I know this is realistic but this is just not for me. So over all I liked the MC aspect and how devoted her club was to her. The characters are good and believable. The story does have a few surprises and is interesting. I listened to this on audio. Michael Norman Johnson and Sarah Puckett did a wonderful job on the narration making it enjoyable to listen to.

Interesting start to a series.

This was my first book by this author and I enjoyed the audiobook. I did have a few questions that I wanted answered so I couldn't give it 5 stars. I feel like this is a true MC book and probably what you can expect diving into this world. I really did enjoy the narrators and it was a quick listen. I will look for more from this series. I was excited to listen to a book by this author (I went to a book signing she organized and met her and some of her cover models) so I didn't look at the narrators but I heard Sarah Puckett and I was like I know that voice! I get some books based off narrators and others I trust the authors to know the best people to portray the characters. It's almost like an old friend telling a story when you listen to books narrated by voices you recognize.

Listened twice now

I've had a hard time deciding how to review this audiobook. First time around, I hated the storyline. I think I still do as affairs of the heart are as bad as physical affairs. I kept listening the first time just to see how the triangle (?) would turn out. The second time listening through, I felt a realness to the storyline. Not that it's right and not that it made my opinion of the characters better. But, in real life, our choices are often made at confusing times when we don't see a whole picture.

The narrators are excellent and had this audiobook rolling like a movie in my head. Emotional performances that were perfection.

I love a second chance romance!

Maverick and Holly had a once-in-a-lifetime love. They were married for 12 years and raising their two children. Maverick was the President of the North Carolina chapter of The Satan’s Knights MC and he and Holly ran a scrap business together. But there came a point when Holly was done with their family coming second to the club. Even though it broke her heart, she divorced Maverick.

Eight years later, things are very different. Maverick is still President, and he and Holly are co-parenting their kids. Holly has remarried. She and her new husband, Colt, have a young son, Theo. Holly and Maverick still love each other. He knows letting Holly slip through his fingers is the biggest mistake of his life. Colt is a good man and he loves Holly and the kids, and that’s really all Maverick can ask for. But when financial difficulties arise, Holly tries to alleviate some of the pressure by asking Maverick to reopen their business with her. He agrees, and then gives Holly enough cash to cover their mortgage for 3 months. His kids live in that house after all. Unbeknownst to Holly, Colt has made a deal with the club to run guns on his next long haul for extra cash. She also doesn’t know that she pocket dialed Colt when Maverick was giving her money and discussing reopening their business venture. Holly decides not to disclose any of the financial plans with Colt, and one night, he’s had enough of the lies and walks out on her. Theo gets very sick later that night. Holly continuously tries to contact Colt, but he doesn’t answer any of her calls or texts. Theo is hospitalized, Holly’s barely holding it together, and Colt’s AWOL. Maverick and the club are up to their necks in a brewing war. Who will end up being collateral damage?

This was my first Janine Infante Bosco book, but it won’t be my last. I loved Maverick and Holly. They’re a couple you can truly root for, hoping they’ll get it together and fix things. Michael Norman Johnson and Sarah Puckett were both new-to-me narrators and did a fantastic job bringing Maverick and Holly to life. If I had one complaint about the book, it’s that it seemed to end rather abruptly, then we were given a very brief epilogue. I would’ve liked to have seen more of the relationship after they reunited.

Maverick and Holly

Maverick and Holly
4* narrators
3.5* story

I enjoyed listening to Maverick and Holly's story. The narrators did an excellent job telling these two second chance story. Even though these two are divorced there is still a strong connection between them. One bad decision from Maverick, Holly finds herself a widow. I love MC stories and how crazy possessive and dominate they are. But Maverick keeps confessing his love for Holly but his stepping out is what caused there divorce and that he still turned to the woman who also had a help in his betrayal to me that is still throwing fire in the wound. This story doesn't just deal with the chemistry between these two but also club business. Maverick is dealing with a rival gang and a rat in his gang who is out to take him out. Poor Colt who married Holly even though she still loved Maverick and can't believe how fast she got over grieving.

Not quite what I expected...

The story was not quite what I expected from the blurb, but it definitely grabbed and held my attention. Janine was at a signing I attended this year, and her books piqued my interest. This one being set in NC, not far from my hometown was another curiosity point. Maverick and Holly are clearly soulmates who lost their way, but the way they ended up back together was CRAZY. I honestly have mixed feelings on that and their relationship. Lots of drama, suspense, the violence you expect in a MC book, and questions to be answered. Narrators did a great job bringing the characters to life.
