I was lucky enough to review this as an early ALC listener from the author herself and this SHATTERED me. Not only did the narrator do an amazing job at bringing this to life but the feelings they made me feel were incredible. I couldn’t help but feel sad, vulnerable and even angry when everything unraveled. This is such a sensitive topic and I loveeeee this author for how she writes everything so perfectly in a way that makes you feel all the feelings! I couldn’t stop listening (unless I had to work) and you won’t either when it finally comes out! I enjoyed this book and how calm the narrator was in the audiobook. She did this book justice! This book is told from the perspective of a 14-year-old female and you can feel the hurt that she went through. Going with Aunt Linda and her mom to the hospital I could feel the confusion and pain that the FMC underwent because she shouldn’t have had to go through this. Reassuring her that is what a safe space made my heart feel warm because survivors need to know that.

Mark wasn’t good at all. The number of people that he treated this way is crazy but he deserved everything that he got.

This book broke my heart. It’s told from the POV of a fourteen year old girl who endures something no one should ever face. The writing pulls you straight into her fear and her courage. I kept thinking about her long after I closed the book. The way Tina handles such heavy true events feels honest and human. I felt every moment of terror and every spark of strength.

Also I loved how real it all felt. You see how trust can shatter and how resilience can rebuild. It’s hard to read at times but it’s also full of hope. I had to pause a few times because it hit so close to the bone. Still I’m glad I read it and I think you will feel its power too.

This story was deep, heart wrenching, and I couldn’t stop listening to this audiobook until I found out how this story unfolds. When Clara takes a vacation with her best friend & her family, unspeakable things occur that have long lasting effects on both of these families. Overall a solid read that I highly recommend! Tina impeccably delivered this story & Shannon did amazing with the narration bringing life to Clara! Very satisfying conclusion!
