Publisher's summary

"There is something at work in my soul which I do not understand."

Pushing the limits of science and morality in his search for acceptance and purpose, Victor Frankenstein unleashes on the world a creation that he cannot control. To celebrate the 200th anniversary of Mary Shelley's Gothic novel, A. S. Peterson (The Battle of Franklin) adapts the tale for the stage and creates an experience that will leave you pondering your own sense of belonging long after the curtain has fallen. Produced with a multi-voice cast in a radio theater style.

A Moving Story

This was my first time hearing the Frankenstein story, and this was a great introduction. Well done and short enough to be accessible.

AN AUDIO MASTERPIECE

This two-hour multi-voice production of A.S. Peterson's stage adaptation is as exciting as the live performance was, and breathes new life into Mary Shelley's original story. This is a full production, complete with music and sound effects, and is, in my opinion, the best interpretation of FRANKENSTEIN shy of the actual novel, and frankly, far more exciting than even the original book, as it is just two hours in length. The voice talent is exceptional. This is truly a work of art.

An auditory feast for the ears and senses!

What a mind blowing audio experience! I was immersed seamlessly into another world, in vivid stereo sound - every footstep, every door closing, every gorgeous moment beautifully captured. From the high seas to the inner chambers to the thoughts and hearts of these beautifully realized characters. What a wonderful trip and what a fascinating experience! The cast is amazing and this adaption is sensitive and a beautifully realized human story of Frankenstein - with a twist. This was an extraordinary listening and theatrical experience I will not soon forget! A must listen!

Incredible production

The classic story of Frankenstein has very little to do with the creepy green monster of children's comics.

Mary Shelley's plot is complex, vulnerable, and rich, touching on timeless themes of love, loneliness, and thirst for power. Yet, the original book is a bit difficult (even frustrating) to read.

So, if you have an Audible credit available, I want to encourage you to check out this brilliant production of A.S. Peterson's stage play Frankenstein by Oasis Audio. Peterson has created a rendering of the Frankenstein narrative that is faithful--yet seamless in its accessibility.

Too many paper publishing companies are trying to cut corners these days, slapping together their own audiobooks--resulting in hits to quality that are quite obvious. (If you have noticed a slew of less satisfying audiobooks lately, this is likely why.) What a breath of fresh air is this production in contrast--a true audio masterpiece. It is full of heart, talent, and life-changing themes presented with artistic excellence.

Treat yourself to a five-star performance in a world of audio fast food. This is the real deal, folks. I think you'll love it.
