About this listen
is a gripping murder mystery set in the picturesque Friday Harbor, Washington, at a circular sock machine retreat called the Crank In. The idyllic location by the waterside offers breathtaking views of orca whales swimming by, providing a serene backdrop for the sock-making enthusiasts gathered to knit together their passion for creativity. When Kathy, the retreat organizer, stumbles upon the lifeless body of a newcomer, Arlene, the peaceful retreat becomes the scene of a chilling crime. Detective Jacobs takes charge of the investigation, uncovering hidden secrets and grudges among the participants. As tensions rise, friendships are tested, and dark motives come to light, the true killer's identity remains elusive. The novel seamlessly blends the world of sock-making with a suspenseful narrative, creating an immersive and captivating read until the final, unexpected twist.

Let me spoil it for you. Some woman got murdered because of some horrible thing she did that caused an accident sometime before the story takes place, that’s the actual ending and level of detail in the climax of this story. I still don’t know what the accident was, what the thing she did was, or really anything except these people like socks and one guy is a flirt. Saved you a read/listen. That’s the level of substance in this murder mystery that remains a complete mystery even after it’s over.
No issues with the virtual voice, it’s the writing that was the problem.
So vague. So INCREDIBLY VAGUE.
