About this listen

In this stirring account, award-winning sports writer John Eisenberg brings to life the epic saga of baseball's winningest franchise from 1960 to 1997. In From 33rd Street to Camden Yards, the Orioles' story is told using the voices of the players, managers, coaches, owners, and fans who helped make the Baltimore Orioles a secular religion in the city that calls itself Baseball City USA.

Great narrative history of the Orioles

As a lifelong Orioles fan and Baltimore native I was gifted a hardcopy of this book a number of years of back. For one reason or another I never finished the hardcopy so I picked this up on audible. It was a great listen and well narrated. FYI for those planning on purchasing, the story stops right around 1999/2000...in hindsight we all know the continued losing streak which followed thereafter through 2012 and Eisenberg was right on the money with his negative sentiments on the lack of talent in the farm system and the instability of the late 1990s GM/manager teams setting up for an uncertain future.

Good history to digest as we witness the Baby Bird generation...hopefully the same mistakes are not repeated by the current leadership of the team!
