Great story and narration albeit with a few flaws

really enjoyed the read through but a few things stuck out to me as weird. I feel like Malach’s line of thinking could be explained a bit more in why he prefers to have a quieter life. throughout the whole story, constantly emphasizes this but i don’t see a strong indication of why he is thinking that. another thing that bothered me a bit was the jarring transitions between the two stories. without revealing too much, it felt like just as momentum was building up in a character’s story, we were ejected back to the other character’s arc. i also feel like the side characters could be more fleshed out via some more interactions with each other or the main character. i am saying all of this but i truly did enjoy the story and i am waiting eagerly for the next audiobook. keep up the good work author and narrator!

Loved it from start to finish!

This book was really fun from start to finish! A very literal take on the war between angels and demon while humanity tries to maintain some semblance of normal life. There is much to say about the book, but I'll condense it into a few points that were the most important to me:

-The main character, Malach, is truly one of the best-written characters I have read in recent history; he feels very natural and very realistic in his responses to situations and dialogue. His companion, Skie, is also a treat every scene; their dynamic with each other is fun, humorous, but also impactful. Each character feels unique and a breath of life into different personalities - the aspirant Daziar, the headstrong Amara, even the sassy wolf, Skie; each character feels memorable.
-The author also takes into account details that many other writers overlook (count the arrows!) while he also avoids getting bogged down in the unnecessary. Every aspect of the story, from the hunting and gathering to the combat and techniques, are well researched and well implemented.
-The pacing of the book was very well done - a slower start to allow things to feel natural in their development and avoid being rushed, while there still some action and tension sprinkled in to scratch that itch.
-It's not all perfect, however. With the slower start comes the need for patience. However, it's not as slow of a burn as, say, Lord of the Rings, and at least the author tries to keep things interesting while the story builds. But give it a chance and you'll be rewarded. There are also a few mistakes here and there throughout the book, though very minor. What mistakes are present are few and far in-between; you can explain them away with your own logic easily and none of them break the story.

In conclusion: I would highly recommend this book. For a little-known author, this is a gem in the sand. I will definitely be picking up the next books when they're released on audio; and I might just grab the physical copies for my collection, too.

Interesting story and expert narration !!

Such an interesting new fantasy take on angels and demons and the origin of it all! Absolutely love Malek’s and Amara’s journeys, and I can’t wait to continue the series when the next audiobook comes out! Will stick to listening to the audiobooks because I adore this narration. The characters are all so uniquely voiced, and the pace and tone is just perfect. Love this narrator and so glad the author found him. Highly recommend!
