We live in a world of seeds. From our morning toast to the cotton in our clothes, they are quite literally the stuff and staff of life, supporting diets, economies, and civilizations around the globe. Just as the search for nutmeg and the humble peppercorn drove the Age of Discovery, so did coffee beans help fuel the Enlightenment and cottonseed help spark the Industrial Revolution. And from the fall of Rome to the Arab Spring, the fate of nations continues to hinge on the seeds of a Middle Eastern grass known as wheat.

short, sweet & Michigan specific
This book was nice and easy to comprehend and exactly what it said on the title--Michigan specific. While I don't live in Michigan I learned a lot about gardening and I'm glad there are state specific books out there like this because the more I learn the more I realize how important that is. Climate and environment are so important in what you can and can't plant and this book will give you all the specifics you need to have a thriving garden in Michigan.
