Publisher's summary

“What is the relevancy of the Cross of Jesus Christ? What does it matter that Christ died on a Cross and rose from the dead over 2,000 years ago? How does His Cross add any value to my life and to who I am and to who I want to be?”

Perhaps it’s a question you’ve asked yourself or someone else and never received an answer that you considered to be satisfactory. If that’s the case, T. D. Jakes will answer your question once and for all, but not in the way you might be expecting. As a master storyteller and powerful biblical expositor, the Bishop shines a light on how the tragic Fall of mankind blocked access to the tree of life, yet how God grants us access to eternal life through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the Cross, opening the way to receive God’s abundant life through the outpouring of the Holy Spirit on Pentecost.

Discover the Savior’s passion as expressed through the Old Testament Passover that must be experienced before one can receive the fullness of the Holy Spirit in power!

Fantastic book and message MUST READ!

What did you love best about From the Cross to Pentecost?

This book is excellent. I have read the book before, and I must say the book is better. The narrator could've done a better job.

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

The person reading this book makes it sound quite droll and although there are witty and quirky comments, the reader just blunders through them with no thought.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When Jesus goes through the torture and pain of his crucifixion

Awesome!!!

I appreciate Bishop's ministry. He breaks down the Word of God in such a balanced way, that it is easily digested.

Great content, but one irritant...

What did you love best about From the Cross to Pentecost?

God's undying pursuit of us and the dissection of Jesus's purpose; the beautifully described comparison and parallel to many Biblical protagonists, or rather, how He was (is) in every book of the Bible; these were so vividly developed!

Who was your favorite character and why?

My favorite illustration was that of the Prophet Hosea's love for Gomer

What do you think the narrator could have done better?

The narrator had a mellifluous voice. HOWEVER, he continuously mispronounced words such as "asked" (there is no "X" or "T" in asked!) and "subtle". There were a few others, but these stood out and made me CRINGE!!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Absolutely!
