About this listen

They went searching for a dream. They found America.

The first in a trailblazing trilogy of the brave men and women who risked their lives to build a future in the untamed heart of the American frontier....

Fort Kearney, Nebraska is the gateway to the west for a new breed of pioneers. Civil War veterans and widows, card sharps and Indian agents, and drifters — they arrive every day hoping to forge their destiny. Colonel Henry B. Carrington of the US Calvary is assigned the unenviable task of securing a trio of forts in the dangerous Dakota Territory. At his command is a rising young officer Mark Reynolds and his spirited bride Rose, who longs for danger and excitement. Her wish comes true when army scout Jack Gregory learns that three native tribes are preparing to defend their land against Carrington’s troops. As the drums of war intensify, Gregory takes off on a deadly mission of his own, Rose risks temptation in the arms of an army surgeon, and Carrington faces the greatest foe he has ever known....

Now, at a lonely outpost in the foothills of the Bighorn Mountains, they must make one final stand. The fate of a nation — and the history of America — will be written in blood.

Performed by Colleen Delany, Eva Wilhelm, Chris Davenport, Chris Genebach, Chris Stinson, Rex Anderson, Tracy Olivera, Michael John Casey, Michael Glenn, Jonathon Church, Scott McCormick, Gregory Wooddell, Eric Singdahlsen, Eric Messner, Matthew McGee, Bill Gillett, Dani Stoller, Sasha Olinick, Elizabeth Jernigan, Evan Casey, Rose Elizabeth Supan, Terence Aselford, Paul Reisman, J W Rone, Thomas Penny, Brad Smith, Tony Nam, Dawn Ursula, Drew Kopas, Matthew Bassett, Christopher Graybill, Scott Graham, Christopher Scheeren, David Jourdan, Ken Jackson, Tim Pabon, Nanette Savard, Nora Achrati, Richard Rohan, Helen Pafumi, Lily Beacon, Casie Platt.

Frontier

This book starts out Mark Reynolds has to go ahead with his troops and leave his wife behind because she got sick. Later she (Rose) is going to where they are with a small group. A scout Jack Gregory plays a big part in making this a great book. The next book will be more about him you learn who and what he is about in this book. Mark and Rose is the main characters. I didn't like mark from the beginning. There is a lot of fights against the Indians. This gives you a real idea of what it was really like in this time. The fighting against Indians and among themselves. Stabbing each other in the back to move up in the army. I felt like everything was believable and written in a way that kept me interested. This is a movie in your mind style of book.(Dramatized). If my review is any help will you please click on the helpful link below. Thank you.
