About this listen
If you are just starting your journey with FS you will ask the same 15 questions that most of us did at the beginning including:
Do I really have FS and not some other diagnosis?
What is the best way to confirm the FS diagnosis?
What caused my FS, as I don’t recall a specific injury?
Do I have to go through all 4 phases of FS to heal?
Will I really have to suffer with FS for at least a year?
Do drugs or injections provide any long-term benefits for FS?
Are there any topical treatments that improve the pain of FS?
When is the best time during FS to get physical therapy (PT)?
Do I need manipulation under anesthesia (MUA) or surgery for FS?
How can I deal with the intense emotions associated with FS?
What is the best way during FS to improve the quality of my sleep?
Are there diets or supplements that are beneficial for FS?
What alternative therapies have proven benefit for FS?
Will my shoulder function and ROM ever fully recover from FS?
Is there anything I can do to prevent a FS recurrence on the other side?
You will find the answers to all these questions and more in this book.
The author has diagnosed FS on 100s of MRI scans, coached dozens of clients to heal their FS, and healed his own FS.
The many treatment options are reviewed in the order of suggested implementation from non-invasive and inexpensive approaches to invasive and expensive procedures. In accordance with the 4 stages of FS, it is best to begin with anti-inflammatory choices in the freezing stage prior to using therapies that focus on mobilization of the joint to regain range of motion that may cause more inflammation if started too early. Manipulation under anesthesia, arthroscopy, and embolization which have significant risks should be reserved as a last resort.
The people who heal the quickest use as many holistic self-healing modalities as possible while consulting with their doctors about other therapeutic options. Start treating the inflammation right away before becoming completely frozen and get to the thawing phase as fast as possible. There is no need to suffer for a few years when you could heal in a few months. Also gain insight into preventing a recurrence in the opposite shoulder which occurs up to 1/3 of the time.
