Terror Comes to Town

Forensic animal expert Annie Montgomery had gone to university to escape her small New Mexico hometown, but unwittingly became the only person qualified to help them deal with their unique problem. To her dismay, she is practically forced to return to the place she never wanted to see again and the people she desperately wanted to forget.

Tasked with identifying the mysterious and horrific animal that is wreaking havoc on the town, she has to deal with a mother who never loved her, the sheriff who broke her heart, and the woman who stole him away. Soon, she is drawn into the town's web of problems, and the place she so deeply despised has suddenly come to depend on her. Annie must discover what's killing the innocent people who live there.

She feels the world is on her shoulders, as she must work around an influx of inexperienced bounty hunters to find out what kind of animal is causing the horrific and disgusting deaths. She will have to try to help hunt down the ancient and mythological creature that is putting the town on edge.

When she finally finds out what it is, she and the sheriff can't tell the people of the town. The truth is too terrible and unbelievable.
