About this listen

Veteran player Gage Heyward retired from the league following a successful career. Now the Titans need him, but does he have what it takes to get back on the ice and pull this team together?

After achieving the goals I set for myself, I walked away from my professional hockey career. It was a tough decision, but the right one at the time. When the Titans organization approached me about joining the team they were rebuilding following a devastating plane crash, I felt a passion for the game and a competitive spirit I hadn’t felt in years. The opportunity to make a huge difference to a lot of people spoke to me, and I accepted their offer and headed to Pittsburgh without a second thought.

Jenna Holland is also new to town, having moved from Phoenix to Pittsburgh to take a job with the Titans. Her past has left her with scars—both physical and emotional—and she’s slow to trust others. But the more I learn about Jenna, the more I want to know. The more I need to know. Because the beautiful blonde with honey gold eyes and a wall around her heart has me enamored.

My game on the ice is the best it’s ever been, but it’s my game off the ice I’m focused on these days. Because while Jenna may not be willing to take a chance, I know the potential is there for something big. Something life-changing. Now I just need to convince her to take the shot.

The hottest retiree

Gage is the latest installment of the Pittsburgh Titans series by Sawyer Bennett. The premise of the series is a plane crash that impacts an entire hockey team, and the rebuilding of that team.
Gage came out of retirement to help his team after the tragedy. Jenna we met earlier in the series, and she was in a horrific fire and her body carries the scars of that battle. Honestly, if you’ve ever had a serious burn you understand just how painful they are. I could never image being burned over large areas, and the painful recovery that it would be necessary.
This is a low angst and low drama edition to the series, and it’s a welcome breather in the series. We watch the relationship between Gage and Jenna develop, and it’s a hot and steamy ride.
The story line and character development was written, and I am enjoying this new series that has more depth that Sawyer Bennett’s other Hockey series.
Lance Greenfield and Virginia Rose are top notch narrators, and both give a wonderful performance. When it comes to an audio book, excellent narrators are everything.

Heartache exploding with temptation and drowning in emotion. Gage is a heartbreaker. Bennett exposes the heart from every angle with a raw energy that dares to be beautiful. Gage and Jenna make every single teardrop worth it's weight in gold.

Outstanding Story & Listen🎧 Riveting & Heartfelt!

I am loving this series and would never get enough of these characters and the Pittsburgh Titans. After a tragic and devastating loss, the one remaining owner has gotten the team up and running, but they still face plenty of obstacles, including getting the team to work as a cohesive unit, Gage, a senior player from Seattle came out of retirement to help with that as an experience player he knows the importance of having that camaraderie amongst the players. One of the original players, Coen, is still struggling, not sure with what yet, but maybe PTSD or survivor’s guilt, regardless I am intrigued and looking forward to learn more about him next. Gage did his best to reach out to him, but you can only help those who want the help. I adored Gage, he is an all-around great guy with an enormous heart and when Jenna catches his eye, he sees something in her, something beyond all her scars. Taking a job with the Titans was a big move for Jenna Holland, leaving her home in Phoenix and her life behind, if only she could leave her insecurities and trust issues behind too. She and Gage hit it off, but she thinks he is just being kind to her, no one would want her because of all her scars, except those scars do not prevent him from seeing her as a person and he likes what he sees, he just needs her to see it. Gage was amazing with her, patient and understanding, and when he realizes taking it slow may not have been the best approach, he steps it up a notch. I loved watching these two get to know each other and to see her come out of her shell, get past her own insecurities and blossom into the beautiful woman she is, the beauty that Gage saw. Sawyer Bennett, thank you for another wonderfully plotted story, loved how Gage and Jenna’s story played out and how much heart you put into this story.

🎧📚🎧 And for the amazing narration, Sawyer Bennett could not have chosen a better cast to bring her characters and story to life. Lance Greenfield and Virginia Rose are wonderfully talented narrators and versatile voice artists. They have a complete understanding of the characters they portray, give each a voice that fits the character’s persona, sounding believable and just as I picture the characters to sound. You can hear how much heart they put into their performance as they capture the character’s emotions and project them into their performance and have you feeling every single one. These entertaining storytellers are a pleasure to listen to and their narration enhances an already fabulous story to another level. Thank you for another fantastic listen!

A hockey romance like no other…

Gage is part of the rebuilding efforts of the Pittsburgh Titans hockey team, after its devastating loss. He intends to stay just long enough for the team to get back on its feet. Then he meets Jenna Holland! The new media manager is beautiful but physically and emotionally scarred by a fire some years ago. While others see those scars, Gage sees the beauty within Jenna and makes it his mission to have her see that beauty. Will he be successful in this endeavor or will Jenna’s insecurities keep them apart? One of my favorite lines in the story is this “No reward is worth it if there’s no risk involved’. Beautiful story that is brought to life, with all the emotions, by an excellent narration team. Looking forward to Coen’z story next!

Fantastic addition to this new series!!

Amazing story brought to life with the narrating skills of Virginia and Lance. I absolutely loved it. These characters, Gage and Jenna were meant to be!! I loved their story and how Gage was able to bring Jenna out of her shell she was kind of hiding in due to her scars. Brianne helped too. I hope she gets a story in this series too. Can’t wait for more of the Pittsburgh Titans.

Loved loved loved

I absolutely loved Gages story. It was refreshing have imperfect and tea jars tees and reading through al their feelings. The author did an amazing job with her backstory and moving through all the steps with her scars and her Personal growth to get there.

Also so delightful with the appearance of characters from prior books and I can’t wait to read more about the other team members.

The narrators had the most perfect voices and delivered real characters and brought the perfect amount of life into them to make them even more real in my mind.

Gage and Jenna

Each book in this series gets better. Gage is so great not bringing a lot of attention to Jenna's burn scars. He doesn't treat her any differently than anyone else except that he's falling for her.
Gage gives Jenna the confidence that she needs without overwhelming her. Lance Greenfield and Virginia Rose are the right narrators for Gage and Jenna.

Couple Goals Right Here!

Gage and Jenna are inspiring and uplifting to see what a relationship should be like. It is an insta love story that will make you swoon for Gage and be excited for Jenna to get her HEA. The audio edition was brilliant, the narrators depicted each character perfectly.

These books are complete standalone stories, but if you have read the previous two, the time line overlaps a little giving a different perspective on somethings but mainly concentrates on Jenna and Gage. Gage is out of retirement, to help rebuild the new Titans team and be as supportive to the younger players as he can be. Jenna, whom we met in a previous series, has moved from Az to Pittsburgh to start a new career with the team in the media sector. They cross paths before she even makes it to her first day, and he leaves a lasting impression on her.

It’s a very quick read, full of happy moments with no angst at all. Gage is a near perfect hero who sees the good in most people and helps Jenna become the woman she once was before the fire that left her scarred in a few ways. He’s encouraging and protective, maybe a little too much for me at one time, but he only has her well-being in his sights. I loved the way Jenna blossomed throughout the whole book and learned to trust again. It’s a very sweet romance with a beautiful happy ending. Lastly, as with every SB book, there is some snippets as to what is up next, and I feel Coen’s book will be somewhat different and he has a lot of healing to overcome.
