Publisher's summary

Andrew Brody, investment banker and self-made millionaire, has just lost his father but gained an estate. Along with inheriting stocks, bonds, racehorses, and undeveloped land, he learns that he is now the owner of a hotel that has been in the family since 1875 and should probably just be torn down.

Marissa Clark needs a new challenge - staging homes to sell and rearranging pictures on walls isn't what she dreamed of doing when she became an interior designer. When she gets a call asking her to help renovate a historical building, she leaps at the change - what a great way to use both her love of texture and fabric and her love of history.

They believe they're just taking an old building and giving it a second chance at life...but they have no idea that they're getting a second chance, too.

The Brody Hotel is a spin-off of the best-selling series Kansas Crossroads by the same author.

Great Start to a New Series!

WHAT IT'S ABOUT
Andrew Brody, investment banker and self-made millionaire, has just lost his father, but gained an estate.

They believe they're just taking an old building and giving it a second chance at life . . . but they have no idea that they're getting a second chance too.

MY TAKE
There was something so precious about this story that ties to Andrew's connection to his ancestors. It doesn't make financial sense for him to keep the hotel, but he's struck by the link and decides to press on. And hires the lovely Marissa to bring the building up to snuff. My only complaint was that it stops rather abruptly, but that tends to happen in these shorter stories, and I'm happy to know this is just the beginning of a new series by this talented author.

I listened to the audiobook, and Erin Dameron-Hill did a good job.

Enjoyable

Andrew. inherited a family place called Brody Hotel from 1875 , One look and knew it needed to be torn down.Instead he has Marissa to come and redecorate the place..interesting of the history and the people connect thru the years to this place, enjoyable .
Given ARC audio for my voluntary review and my honest opinion

Enjoyed!

Great first book in this series! Sweet love story between Andrew and Marissa, learning to share their love for the old Brody Hotel and falling for each other. With the introduction of lots of new characters, I am looking forward to all the stories.

Sweet and entertaining intro into a new series

Overall it was an enjoyable novella.

The performance was good. The narrator used a variety of voices for different characters. I enjoyed listening to her.

The book was a sweet and clean romance that gave just enough to get the reader interested in a new series. The love match was a solid and believable instalove style that would grow in time.

Loved revisiting the Brody Hotel

I’m so glad Amelia Adams started this series so we can follow the Brody Hotel in the 21st century. I really enjoyed this sweet audiobook, and wish it had been longer - a sign of a great story. Thank goodness there are more books in the series. You can’t go wrong with an Amelia Adams book.

Very enjoyable story, but abrupt ending

For the fact that this is a shorter story, I enjoyed the characters and the storyline. But I felt like the ending was very abrupt. I was not anticipating that I was even close to finishing the story, when suddenly it was over. Way too many open questions for it to feel like a complete book. I’m sure that was intentional to encourage people to read the next book in the series, but usually there’s a more satisfying wrap-up for a series installment than this provided. So I did take away a star for that. But I’m looking forward to Book 2!
