About this listen

In this work, General Custer's victories in the Civil War are retold without exaggeration, and his Indian campaigns are described. So few do just what they want to in life; General Custer was one of those few. Few ride as Custer did, with swift certainty through life, and few meet their sudden end so splendidly. Whether you're familiar with the real story of Custer's life or interested in hearing it for the first time, this is the book for you.

I expected Custer to be a fool. This book showed him to be an excellent soldier, good leader and okay politician. He did some amazing things and was extremely lucky. I thought this book would be horribly out of date but it was not bad. It gave some opinions that might not go down so well with the 'PC' set today but overall not a bad history. I may not agree with the actions, but I wasn't there back then. It happened and now I can comfortable debate the issues and events but will be less judgmental in future especially about Custer. More research is needed. Worth a listen to if you studying the man, the time, the events or the people.
