About this listen

The Farewell Address is perhaps the most important document in American history, providing a vision for the future of America and her leaders. The background and history of it are as important as listening to the complete address itself.

the Magnificent Washington in his farewell address was read by what sounded like a cab driver in a small apartment possibly on the toilet. I think once he paused mid-sentence to take a drink of beer. other times pausing perhaps to shift himself and you can hear a squeaky chair. Other than that Washington's address is great.

I'm not sure how they selected the narrator - but they clearly chose the wrong person. Ruined an excellent piece of work.

The work is excellent. The narration is awful.

While this is complete and convenient, it’s a terrible production. The recording sounds like a random man with a decent voice, sitting in his home office, reading the text for the first time, with only one take. I can hear him clicking his mouse from page to page as he reads as well as other background noise. The unprofessional nature of this recording is surprising on a platform like Audible.

Poor audio quality, narration. Little or no editing.

This great document deserves serious and superior voice acting, directing, sound quality and reading.
