incredibly honest narrative on how little we as an nation considered a culture ( and Cultures) that had been here for 10,000 years. Our taking of lands, displacement of peoples to fulfill OUR destiny in the name of our Religion which we used to justify raw greed is just one more chronicle of our continuing polocies today.

The book is well read, well written, and excellent source of eyewitness testimony. Both to his own crimes and that of the governments he encountered.

Some of it is difficult to listen to when it talks of women and children being killed.

That Gerónimo considered Christianity as a better religion than that of his fathers.

I liked the perspective of the Apache tribe on their encounters with Mexicans and Americans from a very personal perspective.

Short, easy, interesting

You can really feel the shift from Geronimo's descriptions of his early life to the obvious propaganda once he's describing his dealings with the federal government. He was a great man, and the fact that he had to ask permission to write his story is truly sad.

Starts off honest
