Short and sweet, I liked it.

I’m not a speaker myself, but I handle the marketing for one, and this audiobook was exactly what I needed to help make a solid plan for my client. Once you know it, a lot of things make sense, like the advice for the speaker proposal. The insider tips were especially helpful since it's not like TED will give you a feedback on why you were not selected, so the more prepared you are the better.

an awesome resource

The author did a fantastic job with this audiobook.

I never knew there was a difference between a TED Talk and TEDx, but the defining chapter makes sense.

I had seen a few TED talks before and noticed that those individuals were not only convincing but passionate about what they were communicating, and their ideas helped change my perspective on a few things. The one that most closely resonated with me was Carla Harris, who spoke about the difference between a mentor and a sponsor and making sure you have the right advocates in your corner.

This audiobook took that and more into account. The author presented reviews, provided the back story, gave credit where credit was due, included resources to review, and provided insight into the overall topic of what to do and how to do it when it came to being invited for TEDx. While this wasn't a long book, the author provided enough information for any individual who has an idea they would like to share, create a template for the application, and be accepted as a speaker through the application, also leveraging the fact that there is no harm in asking for help, whether it be a mentor, coach, sponsor, research buddy, etc.

This is an awesome resource when prepping for TED.

Speaker proposal mastery

This is awesome! Finally, someone has created an in-depth guide to getting your ted talk application taken seriously. It’s wild how difficult this can be to get through and stay out of the “no” pile, however, Teri Kingston has delivered fantastic advice on pitching the idea of your speech in a way that brings about interest, confidence, and even a sense of curiosity to those viewing your application.

Very useful information

As I explore different media approaches to share my message beyond just a book, this audiobook provided valuable insights into what it takes to apply for TEDx. While I know I won’t be pursuing that route, the information was still incredibly helpful in understanding how to craft a strong proposal. The step-by-step guidance on nailing the speaker application, along with insider tips, was especially insightful. The advice on standing out and showing your idea through video was a great takeaway. If you're dreaming of landing a TEDx spot, this audiobook will give you the tools and confidence to navigate the process successfully! Highly recommend it for anyone looking to elevate their message.
