I never knew there was a difference between a TED Talk and TEDx, but the defining chapter makes sense.
I had seen a few TED talks before and noticed that those individuals were not only convincing but passionate about what they were communicating, and their ideas helped change my perspective on a few things. The one that most closely resonated with me was Carla Harris, who spoke about the difference between a mentor and a sponsor and making sure you have the right advocates in your corner.
This audiobook took that and more into account. The author presented reviews, provided the back story, gave credit where credit was due, included resources to review, and provided insight into the overall topic of what to do and how to do it when it came to being invited for TEDx. While this wasn't a long book, the author provided enough information for any individual who has an idea they would like to share, create a template for the application, and be accepted as a speaker through the application, also leveraging the fact that there is no harm in asking for help, whether it be a mentor, coach, sponsor, research buddy, etc.
This is an awesome resource when prepping for TED.
