Interesting

Any additional comments?

To be honest, I got about halfway through the first story (the title story) and really didn't want to listen anymore. It was too upsetting. So I decided to read the book first and I'm really glad I did. I was then able to listen to that first story (about children in Bergen-Belsen) and go on to listen to the rest.

These stories are amazing. McClure manages to develop characters and tell a complete story in just a few pages. Some are very imaginative retellings of fairy tales but others are original stories. My favorite is A Mother's Work. It really is about what mother's do ... figuratively speaking.

Megan Scharlau brings a different tone to each story, which is another plus.

If you like stories that make you think or that look at fairy tales from an entirely different point of view, you'll like this audiobook

I was given a copy of this audiobook for free in exchange for my honest review.
