About this listen

Richard Bower spots his sister after she's been missing for 30 years, but she evades his persistent pursuit to keep their family secret from him.

He thought she was dead...

Thirty years after his parents died in a car crash and his sister mysteriously disappeared, Richard Bower spots a woman in a restaurant he believes is his sister. He confronts her, but she denies knowing him at all. However, a note left behind with staff - written in his sister's script and signed with her childhood nickname - proves otherwise.

Haunted by the past...

Desperate to find his sister in hopes of finding answers to unlock his mysterious past, Richard enlists the help of all his contacts as attorney to find her.

Secrets and lies...

Each clue leads him one step closer to revealing his shrouded past but also one step closer to danger. Is it better for Richard to find out the truth? Or should he remain haunted by the ghosts of the past?

This story feels a little like a prequel to a longer book. It's told from the perspective of the main character, and he's the only one we know anything about. The story starts, there's a little action, the main character wonders what's going on, then boom. The story ends. The narration moves the story along so it doesn't get boring, and reminded me a bit of Tom Hanks' work on The Dutch House; quick paced with enough inflection to keep you interested, but no silly voices.

Story is a little thin, but narration keeps it mov

I liked the concept of this story...and it got off to a great start..then all of a sudden it seemed to come to such an abrupt end and no REAL closure. What happened to the sister..give me more! I wonder how many secret agents REALLY live among us?!

Abrupt Stop!?? I need closure..

The story was only told from the main character's perspective. You never know what the other people are thinking or feeling. It reads more like a writing exercise for a HS student. I felt like some much was left out of the story. Thank goodness the narrator was good. One of the few times a male narrator did a good job with the female voices.

Not very compelling
