About this listen

A Soul Eater is haunting Los Angeles leaving a trail of dead bodies. When novice bounty hunter Nessa Scott's trio of taco-loving fairies is kidnapped by the Fae Queen of Fire, LA's problem becomes her problem. "Capture the Soul Eater or they've eaten their last taco!" The Queen declares. Seems the Soul Eater is part of a royal assassination plot.
Nessa and her invisble cat Pim aren't the only ones after him. A fairytale knight and a monstrous cat from hell -- literally hell -- have their own reasons for tracking him down. One wants him dead. The other wants him alive. Both want Nessa out of the way. Permantently.

This series is hilarious. Only faults are the recaps done in each book. They are already so short, just say must read previous books first! Although there is a missing novela between 2 and 3 that should be read, I haven't and am missing alot. Also, the AI voice is ok, I upped the speed to 1.2x and it's much better.

Great FREE Series

You sometimes hear about a ghost in a bottle, but this time it’s a spirit in a camera! Then you find out just how true it is that you can never trust a fairy!

Good story that continues a great series!

I downloaded this book because it was free, looked fun, and I was curious about the AI narrator. It might be a delightful book, but I don't know because the AI narrator made it infuriatingly hard to focus on. It didn't sound like a computer, It sounded like a bad actor. It was a done in a sing songy voice that was often inappropriate to the action of the book. At one point it was listing off some band names. The last one was KC And The Sunshine Band, but it sounded like it was two different bands. There was some character dialog, followed by - "she said dramatically". The line should have been delivered dramatically - but nope. It was hard to tell the characters apart because they all sounded exactly the same. A good narrator enhances a book and brings it to life. Each character has... a character and point of view. They make it easy to follow the action. There are variations in cadence and pauses between words. Even if they don't do a bunch of distinct character voices, the characters all have different attitudes. There is artistic human thought behind the words! Just listen to anything narrated by Robin MIles, Moira Quirk, or Samuel Roukin and then come back and tell me this is acceptable. If Amazon dumps a bunch of money on you to churn out a series of cheap / quick books that you don't really care about, keep using AI. If you care enough about your work to present it in it's best light.... hire an actor. It doesn't have to be a famous actor. Plenty of actors who are just starting out do great work, But AI can't replace a human's depth of character and artistic interpretation.
