Publisher's summary

Do you feel like a nobody? It’s all too easy to get caught up in the world’s race for success, even if you know that Jesus is your source of hope and significance. Perhaps you’ve even seen people using Christianity to achieve worldly success. How did we as Christians get to this point?

Pastor Matthew Doebler addresses humanity’s constant pursuit of lasting recognition both inside and outside of the church. Using an engaging variety of biblical examples, true-life stories, and humorous pop-culture references, Doebler explains how and why Jesus is the eternal solution to your desire to be somebody.

Really puts things in perspective

Reader is very captivating and funny at times… so may quotes from scripture that really help put things in perspective… We are too quick to judge people… we often forget that God loves all people and Jesus died for everyone.. I highly recommend this book. Thank you Matthew Doebler!

Jesus loves me and that's enough

A lively and refreshing reminder of God's love and our worth to him. Sprinkled with pop culture references and personal anecdotes, this book will help you see yourself as God sees you in Christ.

Recommending this book to EVERYBODY

This book has integrity: it will rip you apart and put you back together, whole, like a bone that has to be broken again in order to be reset. Painful and healing.

And also hilarious. The author pulls from sci-fi and 80s metal lyrics and then deftly dovetails into C.S. Lewis, Tolkien, and Martin Luther. Erudite one minute, accessibly blue collar the next. Engaging throughout.

The author’s personal stories had me in tears of laughter and tears of painful recognition.

Would recommend to anyone wrestling with the big questions, like, Why am I here? Who am I? What does God want from me? I recommend it without reservation.

I am going to listen to it again with my 11 and 13-year-old daughters and give it to my high school and college-age kids, as well.
