About this listen

The timeless story of the nutcracker boy, the mice who attack him, and the little girl who saves his life. Told from the perspective of Godfather Drosselmeyer.

This retelling is true to E.T.A. Hoffmann's original story.

You have seen the ballet, but do you know why the mice attack the nutcracker? Have you ever wondered why the boy was turned into a nutcracker in the first place? Or why he is in Godfather Drosselmeyer's care?

Follow along as injustices are made right, and as a little girl's bravery alters the course of an entire kingdom. An enchanting and exciting Christmas story written by Hiram Bertoch and told by the talented storyteller Leanne Yau.

GODFATHER DROSSELMEYER was a cute story about a good nutcracker. It was Cinderella-ish and had all the wonderful things a children's story should have, ie, a miserly King, a princess, castle mice, a little drama, and good morals at the end. Great writing by Hiram Bertoch.

The story was narrated by Leanne Yau and she has a great voice for the children's stories. She had good voice inflections that'll keep children interested ranging from the screeching Queen mouse to whispering. Cute.
