Publisher's summary

“Gods of the North” (also known as “The Frost Giant’s Daughter”) is one of Robert E. Howard’s earliest Conan stories. Set in the icy lands of Nordheim in the far north, it follows Conan, a young warrior from Cimmeria, as he becomes the sole survivor of a battle. Amidst the snowy landscape, he encounters the beautiful, naked daughter of Ymir, Atali, who tries to seduce him. The tale is rich with vivid descriptions and Howard’s masterful prose, though unfortunately, it is too short. It’s not just a story of swordplay and strategy; it also showcases Conan’s bardic and storytelling skills.

More is less, that is best in life

My first foray into The Cimmerian’s world and wow!

A very short but excellent story. The narrator was great. Peak enunciation and the serious vocal tone really helps get you involved into the story.

A lot of narrators will try to be theatrical with this sort of material but that’s a big hit or miss. If it’s a goofy read-it can eviscerate an otherwise good story. Not this one, his approach to the story really elevates the material and helps the overall immersion.

This is gonna be a high recommended for anyone who wants to ease into the Conan stories like myself.
