About this listen

Brady was once a big deal in the corporate world but lost it all when he exposed his ethical side, resulting in his being expelled and blacklisted his boss, Annika, a feared cyborg. Reduced to performing odd jobs, operating a pedal cab, and scavenging in the derelicts, he slogs through each day fortified by the occasional bottle of City Services Sparkling Red. One dreary day, Annika confronts him. She has a job. Despite the fact that the last time she hired him for an 'odd job,' a man's life was destroyed, he reluctantly takes it, money being the prime motivator. The job is to find the employee who stole a top hush device and disappeared into the inner city. As he begins the search, a dangerous and predatory feral child named Sleep involves herself in the hunt. Brady can't shake her, so he reluctantly allows her to tag along after agreeing to pay her fee: a jar of black olives, a pint of strawberry ice cream, and a game card. Together they scour the inner city, talking with numerous devious and self-concerned citizens, and to Brady's chagrin, parting with significant expense money. They finally locate their quarry, leading to a desperate struggle and something less than the conclusion he wanted. Adventure Dystopian Science Fiction Money
